It tells me this, that no matter how good y'all are and how bad we are, we still have enough stuff to own your team. What should tell YOU something is that over the last 25 years we lead the series 13-12. So go ahead and talk about how Vince Young (probably one of the most overrated college football players ever, seriously the #7 greatest? I don't think so ESPN, he didn't even win a Heisman!) won the national title game for you, then went bad on his promise to stay with the team in a search for his own glory and money (and is now probably one of the most mediocre QB's in the NFL). Dude there were many games that year that Bush was a non-factor or had pedestrian stats. Both players had amazing high-light reels, and both had defining moments in the regular season. VY played at an incredible level the entire year, not just vs. USC. He's the only player in college football to throw for >3000 yards and rush for >1000 yards in the same season. Hell, he probably could've had even more if he didn't sit out almost the entire second half in over 2/3 of the games. In addition to his amazing athletic ability, the reason why people put him up on a God-like pedestal is because of how clutch he is. As for playing at a high level for many years, VY is 30-2 as a starter and in only 3 years he has set the UT record for career total offense at 9000 yards and change. In my book, he is definitely in the same breath with the Tyler Rose, Staubach, Ricky Williams, Herschel Walker, Barry Sanders etc...

But yes, I do agree with you that Danny Wuerffel is hands down the most overrated cfb player ever. If there ever was a player that was a product of the system, he was it...

One's argument can be irrational without they themselves being irrational (by nature). That is why I said you "sound" irrational. VY was on the same level as Reggie Bush every game that season. Unfortunately, USC was the team of "destiny" (considered by many to be the greatest team of all time until the Rose Bowl) and therefore got most of the media exposure. The nature of the Heisman is that it can become a popularity contest in many seasons. It is not always awarded to the player that has played the best and meant the most to his team, but rather, to the player that is covered the most. Hence the Heisman rarely awarded to a defense player. In this particular season, it was quite difficult to parse the regular season accomplishments of Reggie Bush and Vince Young (both played at an extraordinary level). However, after New years, it was quite obvious who was the better player.

Again, I am only responding because you said he is one of the most overrated collegiate football player. This is what you said, and you cannot dispute that. College football is a transient phase in an athlete's career, and it is sometimes hard to judge a player. In todays football, it is of the athletes best interest to leave after achieving the maximum amount of value out of their college experience. I cannot knock a player for leaving early, because their family and their future depends on it. I will knock them if they do not later get their degree and further their education (later discussion). As such, Vince Young has to be put in my book of great college athletes. I would call him an idiot if he didnt leave.

p.s. It is hard to take you seriously on this topic when it sounds like you really did not watch Vince Young throughout that season, and then name players that you perceive to be above him but that you probably never watched in their college days.

i just called tech and the lady said the last pre-match offers were sent via postal mail yesterday morning, and that an accompanying e-mail may not have been sent as the lady in charge of the e-mails was not at work yesterday.

i don't even know what to think anymore.
