I'm definitely down for taking turns calling the admissions office. Lol, maybe even as often as twice a week. I've seen other students do this successfully for other schools, and I think I saw them do it for Touro - NV in last year's thread. Yeah, I wonder if they mean Friday the 21st as well.
 
Haven't been on here in a while becuase I was trying not to obsess anymore about being waitlisted. May 15th finally came, so here I am...obsessing again. Anyway, sounds like the news isn't good so far. This is very frustrating!!!

Wait what...you're calling tomorrow...ok....what's the point for me to call on Tuesday, if you're calling on Monday? Is that not too close?....I can call Friday?

I don't think it's too close, but that's just me. But Friday would be cool too. What exactly are we planning on asking in these calls? I took a look back through last year's thread, to try to get an idea of wait list movement, but only proceeded to stress myself out more. Plus, since there was a different admissions director last year, things may be done differently this time around. It seemed like those students were able to get a lot of information when they called though. Let's hope that we are able to achieve the same.
 
They'll always tell u that there has been no movement but I guess try to find out if anyone has dropped their seat from the current class. Since were past the deadline we should be expecting a handful to drop out of the current 135.

And no Monday and Tuesday aren't too close. They won't mind as long as it's not the same person calling over n over. And they should be expecting to be bombarded with calls after may 15. So let bombardment begin 😀

I'm feeling a spirit of teamwork here...Cheesy, I know..
 
haha ok then....I'll call Tuesday at 11am, since we have to do it before noon....who's down for Friday?
 
It looks like the first students were taken from the wait list just a few days after May 15th last year, and they had gone through 12 people on the wait list by the start of June last year. Makes me so frustrated that they moved the meeting this year after reading that.

Thanks...but have u considered dropping ur seat and going to AZCOM? I hear their lunch menu is off the hook. 😀
 
Hey everyone, I just called (wanted to make sure some things were in my file). Looks like they're going to review files after Oscar gets back next week and then make decisions from there. Decisions will be sent through mail (yeah I know...?!) by June 15 or everyone should know by June 15. I don't know if the plan will change once they meet though.

I didn't ask about how many people dropped though so maybe someone could ask that, haha.

We need to get this squared away, we should start calling and find out how many different stories we can get

That doesn't really make sense ... what if not everyone on the wait list accepts? Then they'd have to accept more people from the wait list, and that's not something they could do via mail. Am I just confused? Oscar definitely told us at interview that he would be calling. Do you mean that they will inform you your rank via mail? That everyone will "know" their rank by June 15th? And not if they're in or not? That would make more sense ... Otherwise, final decision via mail sounds like bad news, like no one dropped their seats or something.
 
I remember oscar during our interview said that if a spot opens up he will call us to offer it to us on the phone. But who knows how valid that information is anymore. I tried giving them a call but nobody is picking up. I think they're at lunch. I'll try again in another hour or so to find out if anybody has dropped their seat

Haha, sorry. It took me awhile to pick between the two, but Touro will definitely be a better fit for me. AZCOM's 3rd and 4th years seem like a nightmare! I'm just waiting for my stupid grades to be posted so I will feel comfortable officially withdrawing my seat from AZCOM. My Touro acceptance is provisional on me getting at least B's in all my classes.
 
Yeah, I know, Oscar said during interview day that he would be calling also. Susan said decisions would go out through mail. I didn't inquire why. We'll see in a couple days or next week if anything changes. I would imagine that if decisions went out through mail, and then several people didn't accept, that they would call or something.

Btw they will be open on Friday.
 
I called Oscar today too to update my address and it went straight to his voicemail. On his voicemail he said that they will meet June 15th, rank the waitlist and mail out letter with the ranks. The voicemail also said that the school will be closed tues at noon and will open again on Friday....I think?

By the sounds of it, I am not sure if the June 15th meeting will affect us accepted waitlisters. Maybe Oscar will review our applications next week when he returns?? **crosses fingers**
 
Just called...spoke with Jenny. She didn't really give me any information but said that by the 24th or so they should know how many spots r opened. She also said the admissions committee will PROBABLY meet sometime between 5/24 - 5/28.

I asked if anyone didn't put in their deposit but she said she didn't have that info and Oscar is not here. Then again, I was speakin to Jenny, last time it was Susan..who knows what the next person will say...
 
Are any of the people on the accepted wait list still considering attending other schools? I know there were a few people who were wait listed at other schools ... I was trying to look at all of your profiles, etc. It looks like Rayraydolly is attending RVU. I know if I'm accepted at Touro, I am DEFINITELY attending, despite being wait listed at other schools. I already sent a letter of intent, but should I send one saying, "hey, I'm on a few other wait lists, but I'd rather go to your school?" I just didn't know if there are a few on the accepted wait list that are holding on for schools closer to home or anything. Because that would be fine with me. 😀

Okay so I talked to Susan also today and she didn't give me much feedback either. She said Oscar was out and the meeting has been moved to an unknown date, which is it can be whenever they feel like meeting up lol. Then I asked her that wasn't Saturday the last date for the final second deposit, so do you guys have a better idea of how many ppl have dropped out of the class and how many seats are roughly available? She literally was so shocked when I asked her this cuz I am thinking she assumed we didn't know about the due date of the final deposit, but little does she know we have SDN and an amazing group of students who will rock Touro if all accepted. anyways, she said she will have that info sometime later this week or early next week about how many seats they will have left open now cuz the administrative office needs to update all that info and stuff. so I guess we can try getting this much out of her next week if possible.

and the whole mailing us our rank sound really ridiculous, I mean just call me or e-mail. lets just all stay hopeful and hope things work our for all of us.

and for me it's touro all the way or nothing also, so really hoping this works out

Seriously, Oscar told us that it would be a call...anywho, we'll see how this progresses....

Way to go. We'll try one more time friday...maybe they'll let something leak out then. But good job! I'm starting to think we should ask to speak to Susan in the future....she's the only one that actually knows any info, aside from Oscar of course..

No, I'm still pretty sure it's going to be a call and that just ranks are going to be sent via mail. I mean, think about it. I makes literally no sense to send those decisions via mail. I remember Oscar saying that if you are on the waitlist, he'd call and that you may have to accept/decline on the spot. Mailing an offer would take days to get to you and then you'd have to call to accept/decline, so that they could mail or call someone else, potentially taking more time? Absurd. But regardless, mailing out rankings so late in the game means that none of us is going to be accepted until like late June. And I do think that the accepted wait-listers will be affected, since I have a feeling that the accepted wait list will also be ranked (e.g. #s 1-20). Otherwise, wouldn't they have to meet everytime a spot opens up to decide who to accept from the list? It seems like they did things so so much more efficiently last year. Argh. Anyway, I say we keep calling several times a week until we're all in. Maybe that way we can encourage (and I mean, annoy them so much that they have to do something) them to get the ball rolling.

Makes sense to me....we'll see and try to get as much info as we can...I called a couple times today (before noon PST of course)...no answer, just machine. I left a message...no response back yet...just asked more about how the accepted waitlist will be handled compared to the waitlist. I guess I won't hear back from them until Friday 🙁...oh well, we'll just have to wait some more, lol.
 
two quick things:

1. I love the activism wrt the waitlists on this forum. I think it's helping a lot of people cope with a nebulous situation, and I think that the organization will help spur adcom activity.

2. i wouldn't be surprised if tuncom takes a look at this site every once in a while, and i wouldn't be shocked if the activity in this thread helps speed up the process a bit!

I can call on Friday too, since I did not get a response today, or if I receive a call back on Friday, I'll relay that information to you all.
 
I plan on calling friday too! I'll let you know what I hear. Unfortunately its too late for me to help me make my decision on Western's Masters/Linkage program (need to decide today) but I'll keep you all posted. If they are actually waiting until after June 15th at least I'll have my final grades for spring quarter to update them with the retake will bring a 5 unit C- to an A so it could help! lol

I hope you don't bring the Stephen Curry effect - good shooter but still didn't help the team from placing 4th worst in the league. As much as I hate saying it (as a Laker fan), I'd rather go for the shot of Ray Allen aka Jesus Shuttlesworth because "he got game".

yeah the injuries to Turiaf, Biendriens, CJ Watson, Kelena Azbuike, Brandon Wright, Raja Bell, Radmonovic, Morrow, had nothing to do with that record.

About 70 percent of their team was at some point injured.

They called up 4 D-Leaguers for Pete Sake.

Curry is the real thing. He comes from good stock, he will be one of the best shooting and distributing point guards in the league. He should have been rookie of the year. No one has averaged as many triple doubles in their rookie year as he did since MJ.

As far as the he got game reference. I wonder why "Big State" and "Tech University" dont have DO Schools.

Only part of your list is credible: I'd miss Turiaf's rebounding/energy, Azabuike scoring, Bell's tenacity, and Morrow's scoring (well-known for his Summer League dominance and a downpour on the Clippers lol). Every team could go for the hack-a-Biedrens; Radmanovic is outplayed by most other 6'10''s (not that athletic - can't handle the ball like Lamar Odom, post-up like KP43, nowhere near Kevin Love; I'd even pick Omri Casspi over Radmanovic any day).
I hope Curry has a great second year and challenges the likes of CP3 and Derrick Rose. However, where did you get the stats of averaging "as many" triple doubles? Curry had only one this season (against the Clippers) although he did come close a few times; Tyreke also had one triple double (against Toronto). MJ had 3 triple doubles in his rookie year (against the Knicks, Nuggets, and Bucks).
Wonder what would happen in intramurals if Pau Gasol decided to stay in med school.

Sorry if this isn't Touro-NV related, but I though it would be nice filler for those waiting for Friday.

FYI, for what it's worth, when I had my interview (and I think probably the same as everyone else) I was told that the acceptances would be sent out "next week" via snail mail and there was no reason to call because this would be the only correspondence. Well, just like everyone else, my acceptance was give by a phone call a few days later so my guess is that they tell you "by mail" to give themselves time so they don't get inundated by phone calls asking "Am I in yet?!" so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Don't get spun around the axle about this... you'll get the call if your in and if you're not you'll probably get a letter saying thanks but you didn't make it. Good luck to you all...
 
Just got done playing ball for like 4 hours, hella working on my game this summer. I'm like so freakin excited just cuz of the fact that they have an inside basketball court, seriously can't wait to ball down there if I get in.

as for warriors, it doesn't matter who they get or how good curry is, any good player they get always ends up getting traded. I really hope they get rid of monte and keep curry instead and go for bosh haha

and Imma call it right now, lakers beat celtics in finals in game 6!!!
 
Called admissions... Got no info though. She says Oscar will be back Monday and that's when they'll begin evaluating the waitlist. (which unspokenly means spots are open??).

But when I asked if anybody didn't pay the deposit and if any spots opened she said she doesn't have that info and if she did she doesn't know if they would be sharing it.

So somebody call back Monday...

Hey all,

Called today..got no new information really, though I will make some inferences here from what I gather....

Susan I believe said that as far as she knows, no difference in the way "accepted waitlist" will be handled, just that "accepted waitlist" is on the top of the waitlist and that letters will be mailed out June 15th to "anyone who is still waiting."

I'm guessing what will be in the letters is whether you're high, medium or low on the waitlist. As far as the accepted waitlist, I don't know what would be in that letter if we haven't received a call yet....I'm inferring that we still may receive a call because..."anyone who is still waiting" will have a letter sent out on June 15th....so maybe some of us will get calls before then and anyone still waiting will get the letter....we will see....

Is anyone else confused (and maybe a little upset/angry) why they would have their meeting today, and then not let us know for another 3 weeks? What is going on between now and then? Don't they realize that we'd stop calling them if they would just be open and honest with us? ... What if there aren't any open seats? Is it even fathomable that they could go from taking 50+ people from their waitlist in all the previous years and practically none this year? I feel sick thinking about it. 🙁

Of course they will take people off the waitlist...there's no way they wouldn't! right!....I can't believe they wouldn't have spots open up....they just don't want to tell us anything right now....they are organizing the list and lining things up....I think they are trying to minimize calls by letting us know that June 15th letters will be sent and that's it....we'll gather info from this forum...once we start getting calls, we'll all know....we will get calls, I know it!....
 
Does the June 15th date also apply to those on the accepted waitlist?
