Does the June 15th date also apply to those on the accepted waitlist?

As far as I know yes because Susan said that they aren't being handled differently than the waitlist and that whoever is still waiting will get letters...but what would the letter say? Would it say "you are now accepted!" yay...or would it say you are on the "accepted wait list" hmmm I already know that thank you....or "you are number 19".....😕....I have a feeling they'll call off the accepted waitlist before the 15th, but that's me hoping.......

Well yeah for sure, closer to zero would be better, lol....One thing we can ask when calling is if the letter will state high, medium or low for the waitlist, what will be in the letter for those on the accepted waitlist?

I talked to Susan today regarding when we will hear back and she said she assumes that ppl will start hearing back before June 15th as seats open up and who ever hasn't heard by then will get a notification via mail of where they stand. and yea I don't think she has a lot of this info either, but she was still really nice to tell me this much. so if anyone hears anything within the next few days, plz post back so it will give the rest of us some hope also haha

Hey everyone! I am also on the "accepted wait list" and have been waiting for them to give us some real info. Sorry I am so late to the post, didn't know about this forum for a while and didn't really have much to contribute. It seems like everyone has been doing a great job working together and trying to get info.

Most of my attempts to get solid facts have been in vain also, but Oscar did reply to an email of mine yesterday. He said "I will have the Admissions Committee meet no later than mid-June. I am assessing where we are at right now as far as deposits and so forth." He also said that if selected, he will contact through email (I requested this), he also asked for my cell number. So don't lose hope guys, letters are being sent June 15, but I'm sure they're going to do some calling before then. The meeting and June 15 date is probably just smoke to hold us at bay while they pull people off the list (at least I'm hoping too!).

Glad to be part of the effort now!

Their acceptances are probably based upon their stats and not their interview dates. Of course if they'd like to share stats, that's another story. Island dweller, you live in Hawai'i? You must be relieved to have found out so soon. Making that move on short notice would be awful. What time did you both get the call (PST)?

Excellent MCAT. I'm not surprised that you were their first pick. =)

I wonder if we keep calling them, if they'd tell us how many they've taken from the wait list at any given point in time. Just curious if there have been others accepted who aren't on SDN.

on my waitlist letter at the end it said if i was not accepted this year I would be considered as a candidate for early accept.

after emailing Oscar, he acted as though he had no idea what I was talking about and told me everyone would have to apply again next year.

if they are already making calls, then that means the waitlist is already ranked.

My other waitlist school was TouroCal and my waitlist position there was lower; so that is probably not going to be an acceptance. Even if I did get accepted I will stick with TouroN though. Sorry :-(

I know this sucks! But....
Don't get discouraged....things will move! Looking at last year's forum things were a bit faster and such, but the majority of the movement happened in the month of June and even more in the latter part of June. In the beginning of June they had gone through 25 to get 17 in (yes a lot better than right now I know) and by the end of June they went through 90 to get 52 in. So yeah...things may be slower this year and maybe they won't go as far down on the list, but in the end it can't result in that dramatic of a difference. Let's keep marching forward...🙂

Im not getting my hopes up anymore. I've all but resigned myself to having to re-apply so i'll be submitting on Tuesday 🙁 Brutal but I feel like I sold myself short by not properly prepping my app last year and submitting late anyway. So what is everyone else thinking regarding re-applying? I know DbDan is already going to submit. How about you accepted waitlisters? Are you going to re-submit ASAP or are you going to hold off a little longer? I'm unsure as to what to do. I really can't afford to re-apply at the moment but could swing it if I need to. Also, I'd be applying with basically the same application as last time since I didn't think I'd need to re-apply at all (since everyone kept saying "the accepted wait list is a sure thing"). Is applying with the same application a med-school death sentence? I feel like I should at least wait until July or something. I know if I don't update my application at all I'll get asked about it during interviews. Isn't telling my interviewers that I was yanked about on wait lists for months a good excuse for not having an updated application? I'd think applying early would be the most important thing since that's clearly what I didn't do last time.

I'm on the accepted waitlist...I am not reapplying...I mean I just can't think they won't go through at least 20-30 off the waitlist. That would just be crazy to wrap my head around. How can a school go through over at least 90 (and that was not the end of the cycle) and all of sudden this year only go through two!

There wouldn't be much to update on my app either...I did apply late though....but no I'm not reapplying

that's an amazing question...I was planning on retaking my mcat but no time to start studying for that now..and don't wanna apply with the same app but absolutely nothing in my life has changed since my last app because of this waitlist thing...and have absolutely no money to go thro with all this again..

When I last spoke with Susan she told me they won't be looking at the next primary apps until July or August..but I'm sure when they start lookin they'll start with the ppl who submitted first so I'm back to square one...

Things are probably kind of stressful for Oscar, too. I believe this is his first year as director of admissions (although he had some other role before) and he's got all of us, stressed out and calling him all the time for answers that he doesn't really have.

I think you guys should just ask yourself if you will be applying this upcoming cycle if you do NOT get any acceptances. If the answer is yes, maybe you could get your primary application ready while you are waiting and try to get some more shadowing or volunteering, or something like that. Otherwise, I think you may be really sorry when you're scrambling to throw your application together later. This way, it'd be ready, and all you would have to do is pay and submit it. I don't think submitting in July or even right away in August would be that late for you guys.

And, if you get accepted, all you did was waste some time prepping your app and not any money! I just wouldn't bank on them going through as many people as last year, because you never know what's going to happen. Better safe than sorry! Good luck guys

P.S. I'm thinkin that it may be a little different from last year, but who knows. I can't imagine that anyone who submitted the second deposit though is still holding onto another acceptance and trying to decide between schools. There are probably some who are holding waitlist spots that they would rather have, and those would be the seats you are waiting on, if they get accepted off their desired waitlists. That's just my guess. Unless you guys have just been misinformed and the class actually isn't full at this time!
