Yeah, Davis was my only app. In reality it would be very difficult for me to go anywhere else because of personal/family reasons, and if I didn't get into Davis on the first cycle I would want to give it one more chance. So if I don't get accepted, I'll apply again along with a few other schools. Also, I don't have the prerequites for any of the othe schools - I took 2 quarters of physics and o chem so would have to go back to school for at least 1-2 semesters before I could be a good candidate for any place except Davis.

But yeah...definitely nerve wracking to have my eggs in one basket. VerY atypical of me. But reality is, Davis is where I really want to go, where I have always wanted to go, and I don't really want to turn down an offer somewhere else just because I want to give Davis one more shot if I don't get in this year.

But enough negative talk!! 🙂. Now is the time to think positively! And not second gues myself. 🙂. Everything in my life has ended up happening for the best, so for now I've done everything I can do right now and I'm going to sit back and enjoy the ride for the next couple of weeks!
 
haha I was thinking about doing some baking today too... the rain has made me a little stir-crazy but got some cleaning done that I'd been procrastinating on and watched some movies along with winning an epic game of monopoly this weekend... all in all trying not to stress too much as ya'll have all said what will be will be.

I did just that - applied only to Davis my first cycle, got rejected, and then applied elsewhere this year. I'm waiting on Davis, and was accepted to Purdue, so keep up the faith - you're going to Vet school! 😍

I was hoping some of you can help me out with the physiology prerequisite for Davis.

I need to take an online Physiology course but the only one that I can take seems to be the UNE Physiology course which I heard was quite rough. Have any of you taken an online physiology course and if so, do you have any suggestions?

If I get into Davis, I'm hoping to complete this course in 2 mo! Fingers crossed. I've checked all the SDN forums on this and all the other online Physiology courses don't fit my schedule (ANS314 at Oregon starts in the summer; UND, same; Breyer state course can't be taken).

Welcome, wchen09!

I didn't take the course online. However, I used ASSIST (http://www.assist.org/web-assist/UCDSVM.html) to determine where I could take transferable classes. Maybe you can use it to explore other options.

I have not taken an online physiology course, but have you asked UCDavis whether they accept this online physiology course from UC Berkeley? (The ASSIST web page doesn't say they do, and recommends X109 instead, but sometimes the ASSIST web page doesn't know everything.)

I'm doing genetics online through UC Berkeley (course X143), and while I won't say it's easy -- I think I'm not a good online learner because I want to ask questions -- it is doable.

Congratulation, ThePrismGril! Yes, if you are determined and passionate about becoming a vet, you will get there sooner or later.

Didn't do much over the weekend. Worked, celebrated my best friend's b-day, run errands, and enjoyed simple things in life. Pretty boring but content.

That is a valid point. You should check with the Admin beforehand. I ended up taking a course from Cal State East Bay that's 1 hr away from my house because none of the online courses offered at that time satisfied UCD requirement (including the UCB extension course).

The PrismGirl, we are in the exact same boat! I too applied to Davis last year and got rejected. Now i am also of course waiting for Davis and I got accepted to Purdue! Hopefully well all end up going to Davis though!! I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for all of us!

Thanks everyone for your help. Sadly, UCDavis doesn't accept the UCBerkeley Intro to Physiology because it's not "upper division" I'm also taking the X143! Looks like I might have to stick to the UNE course (looks ridiculous)! I'm working in Singapore, so I have no choice but online courses -_-

O well, I guess I'll find out soon whether I have to take it!

So I'm new and a convicted lurker......I can't believe we have all waited so long and its finally march 21....I can't concentrate, work, and am so nervous its making me sick :scared:.....goodluck everyone I hope we all make it in!!!!!!!!!!!
 
I'm so happy to finally *meet* all you luckers who have finally come out of the woodwork! LOL. Somehow it seems a bit more fun to go through this with a group.

Everyone who shared their experience of not getting into UCD and reapplying with more schools - thanks, that's actually very encouraging. Makes my plan not seem so crazy. 🙂 Although of course all fingers crossed that every single one of us are classmates this fall.

Sorry - I'm so nervous I'm kind of rambling. 🙂 WEll, "nervous" isn't the right word, but you know what I mean. "nail biting anticipation" may describe it better. How about "impatient nail biting anticipation"?
 
AHorseOffCourse: my only app this cycle is to UC Davis too....it makes it all the more stressful because well its the only one....ekkkk!!!!!
 
I hate to be a downer on the party...but the only thing I can think about today is that they have reserved until March 31st to let us know 🙁 I hope my thoughts are wrong.....
 
Well, I'm pretty sure I can put my life on hold and do nothing but refresh this thread and my inbox until the 31st. 🙂

I'm just kidding. LOL.

I had the same thought, but really hoping it will be this week.

Not sure if this makes it better or worse, but the first acceptance posted on SDN last year was posted 10:09AM..........
 
After freaking out for most of the day last Thursday and Friday, I've calmed down a lot over the weekend and am at the point of "when it comes, it comes". When I got up this morning, the first thing I thought about was NOT about the acceptances, which I think is a GOOD thing.🙂
 
We were all so brilliant that they are having a hard time deciding 😀
 
Oh and congrats!!!!! (sorry - I've been waiting for a post like this all day, and when it happened I was totally stunned!) YEAH!!!!!!!
