UC Davis c/o 2026

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Current first year, working 10h ICU at VMTH every Saturday, working in a research project in a lab, picking up occasional shifts at another ER in Sac/participating occasionally in outreach clinics, and still have energy for a few club activities. Very flexible schedule if you're not super into the grades, I skip lectures all the time, all lectures are recorded if you prefer to study later. Absolutely loving the autonomy.
What's the timing of classes? Like is it 9-4pm (if it were to be in person/ if you were watching during lecture times)

Most days it's lectures in the morning (2-4 lectures usually) and labs/discussions in the afternoon. The longest days are 8am-5pm but they are rare, most are 9/10am - 3/4pm with a 1h lunch break. There are days with big chunks of gap in between, and there are days when the afternoon is completely open.

I know this thread has been dead for a while, but does anyone know how long it is before the waitlist starts moving? I was reading last year's and people started moving up the waitlist right after the decisions were out, but this year my spot hasn't moved at all yet. Just trying to decide if I still have a chance to get in here or if I should decide to go with one of my other schools

Hi! I will be applying this upcoming cycle as an OOS student and was wondering if anyone would be willing to share their stats/experience with me :') anything is appreciated!

Hi! I was OOS accepted but will be attending elsewhere. These were my stats, but everyone’s story is different - so please do not compare yourself too seriously. Don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you need any help. Best of luck in the upcoming cycle!!

I have declined my seat. Congratulations to whomever is next on the waitlist. I wish you all the best in your veterinary studies!

Are there any current students that could talk about how easy or difficult it is to get wildlife experience at Davis? Or how their wildlife program is overall?
