I second this! Going to be anxiously waiting until March comes around 😆
That sucks for us it was mid February (I know because my MSU interview was on the 21st and I got my acceptance I think on the 16th…no time to cancel flights or hotel)

Do you think there is any significance to your interview date? Like if you are scheduled mid-January vs. February? I'm probably looking too much into this..

All things I have read have said no it doesn’t effect your placing. Example: i was lucky enough to get an interview after being waitlisted but my interview is January 25th.

A good few of my class was the dead last date so no one fret if you have that one.

Is it a good idea to try to catch up on veterinary-related current events? I'm so bad at being up to date on that sort of stuff, but I don't want to get caught off guard.

I would say not specific events but overall trends. Lack of food animal/ lab vets, suicide in all areas, mental health, large+food animal vets getting paid way less especially if government paid. High debt ratio to pay. Aging out without replacement is a big one on a lot of sectors. Residency/ internships without a livable wage ( keeps lower income students away because more debt and more interest on loans)

in my interview, they asked me so yes I would freshen up! 🙂

I think they said by the second week of March :/
i’m secretly hoping that they are going to under promise and over deliver (get us answers before then) but that’s just a dream haha

I had my interview today and I was honestly very disappointed with the experience. The interviewers just fired off question after question, it was not conversational at all, they came off uninterested and even judgmental at times. I felt like my responses were solid and I came prepared but I just really did not enjoy the interview process. Did anyone else feel similar?

That’s how I felt last year! This year I had a much better experience. I think it just depends on who your interviewers are…

That’s how I felt too… very impersonal. That was my least favorite interview and the one I came away from feeling not very confident.

It did not. That's why I'm asking if anyone has seen any movement on it, since interviews are now over?
Oh! I dont think anything will change for a bit as interviews are still going on (a friend has one the 10th) and they need to wait for casper results for those who didnt take it until after the recieved the interview invite.

I don’t know how to wait until March I’m like obsessively checking this page 😣

Just had my interview today. Good luck to everyone interviewing in the upcoming week! 🙂 Hopefully we hear some good news in March.

Anyone else feel like they messed up a question or two? Just trying to make myself feel better! They asked some tough ones in my opinion.

Yes!! I found some of the questions really tough, and I honestly wasn't prepared for that. I had to really stop and think about my answer, and definitely wasn't sure I answered well on at least one. I had a tough time gauging their reactions to my answers too.

I had one question they let me come back to at the end, and my final answer elicited some questionable facial reactions 😂 I’m glad to hear I wasn’t the only one who thought some questions were tough! Hoping one bad answer doesn’t make or break anything

I definitely had one or two that I wasn’t sure on! And honestly I was too obsessed w trying to look at the camera that i literally had NO clue what likely questionable facial expressions they were making. Though one interviewer did have to clarify the question because I definitely didn’t answer right the first time hahaha.

would y'all say that watching the instagram video by Alex was super helpful with navigating how to answer the questions? I wanna know if I should watch it once more before my interview

OOS Interview invite (pulled from the waitlist). My interview is tomorrow, any advice? Kind of freaking out with the little time to prepare lol

Just completed my interview. It was definitely very conversational and my interviewers seemed genuinely interested in what I had to say. I was obviously very nervous but I think it went pretty well. Good luck to the rest of you interviewing. You got this

Did anyone write thank you letters to their interviewers? I saw in the closing email that it's an option but I cannot for the life of me remember one of the doctor's names because of how nervous I was - not sure if this is important.

They will automatically send it to whoever interviewed you, you don’t have to include names 🙂

I was looking at last year's forum and the acceptance/ denied letters were sent out on March 12th :dead: The waiting game is going to kill me HAHA. I am just thankful that I have the opportunity for an interview. Last year I was straight up denied.

I had an interview scheduled for the 11th but was accepted to two other schools, one of which was my dream program so I'll be going there. I declined my interview on Friday. I'm hoping it goes to someone on the interview waitlist who wants it just as badly as I did. Good luck everyone.

If you don't my me asking, where are you going! CONGRATS!!

Do any of you know how the decision-making process works? After interviews do they go over everyone's application again and interview comments and sit down in a room and decide?

Thanks so much! I was accepted to Missouri and Oklahoma State. Oklahoma State has been in my top 2 for years so I've chosen to go there after being waitlisted at cornell which was originally my first choice. I'm still waiting to hear from 6 other schools but I'll be declining the seats right away if I get in.

Dr. Risco used to be head of large animal clinical sciences at UF he's an awesome person and is dean at Oklahoma.

After the interview they either decide immediately or they review the interview scoring if I remember right. No one looks over the packet again the only thing at the interview portion is the interview.

Well that feels a tad bit terrifying. 🙃 thanks for the info!!

Interesting!!
So it seems they'll queue everyone up to announce decisions all at once.
For if they already know who they'd like to admit or deny based on already-held interviews, then we'd have seen some of decisions already..
