@batsenecal
I think we're actually 135 now, with the late addition from last year's class!

But PP is right, 130 is usually the goal, and they've been much more careful about that ever since the monster class of 2020 where they over-accepted. 😉 So I would imagine they'll probably accept no more than 150 people off the bat.

Oh nice. Wow for some idiot reason, I thought they were on an overaccepting trend. 135 is a very nice class size

Every school overaccepts to some degree since they anticipate students declining (especially OOS students).
Right, no I know that. I didn't explain well enough. I was just asking if the recent class was as monsterous as 2020's

No, and I'm pretty sure if the school has another monster class, they'd be in some sort of hot water  We physically cannot hold that many students, especially in the teaching hospital

How do you remember the names of your interview panel for your thank yous? I can only remember the practicing veterinarian and the first name of the student...I guess I should have written it down afterwards

I cancelled my interview since I accepted the offer from Mizzou. Hope everyones interview went well and good luck.

Does anyone know are they emailing us on March 2nd or by March 2nd? Because if its on, then I'll stop frantically checking my email every 2 minutes :help:

They are sending decisions in the mail!

And to
One cool thing that was mentioned was that they don’t charge summer tuition for your senior year, unlike most places.
And there’s 60 OOS spots and I THINK he said 120 OOS will be accepted? Someone correct me if I’m crazy
He did say that! He said they will send out 120 oos acceptances since so many out of staters decline. But I couldn't remember what the actual target number was....it's only 60?!

The class is generally 60 OOS and 70 IS, give or take a smidgen.

From what I understood, they will send out snail mail on March 2nd, and then will send an email a few days later.

Since decision letters are going to be sent out, do you guys know if I can call to change my address?

Kinda don't want the parental units at home to read my letter before I do.

Try calling today at like 9 am cst because it may be too late since they were planning on having them mailed by friday. And I really hate when people’s parents open the letter before their kid can. Something about that just really bothers me. I have some friends who’s parents do that and idk it just irks me.
Or MAYBE if they’ve already sent them they’d be willing to email you yours earlier than the rest of them?

My letter actually went to my parents house instead of mine (since I hadn't changed my permanent address). My sister was the first one home and called me right away. She asked five times if I was sure she could open it to read to me.

But they were totally willing to mail it if I wanted it. My mom won't even answer my phone when it's ringing right in front of her, let alone open my mail.

Yeah the only way I think my mom would even answer my phone is if she sees that it’s like my dad or sister calling or something
But yeah, they don’t open my mail for me unless I tell them to open something specific

Im gonna be spring break doing a service trip so my letters gonna be sent to my parents. Im gonna puke this while weekend while driving to nashville THIS WAITING THO

Ooooh you're right, they did say *by* March 2, I've been thinking it was *on* March 2nd. The 'rents open my mail from UIUC just in case it's something time-sensitive and important, but man it'll be embarrassing when they send me a pic of the letter if it's not a decision that they're not happy with.

Thanks guys!

At this point, it's not intensely time sensitive. You have to let schools know by April 15, which is going to be at least 4-5 weeks from the latest point you'll get the letter. Tell your parents to hold off and mail it to you directly!

Sorry for the heart palpitations guys!! 🙁(

Also, did you guys get an email saying that your transcript was received just now? Kinda weird since it was due 2/1.

Yes! I just got an email saying it was received and I was confused because I sent it so long ago!

I'm glad you found out though! So now we have an idea when letters are coming!

Yeah I thought that was weird too! But I did get an email today as well!!

I didn't get that email... I'm wondering if that's a bad sign 😳.

crap i didnt get one either im trying not to read into it :arghh:
The email came from the system that I sent it through, (Ohio State's online system), so I'm assuming they just now "accepted" my electronic transcript that was sent to them. The email didn't come from Illinois itself so I wouldn't be too worried if I was you!

If you interviewed, don't read anything into not getting an email. They obviously have your transcripts if that's the case.

Same! Well not Ohio, but my schools company sent it!

So hard to not read into these things!
I mean, if your schools company sent that your transcript was downloaded, that means nothing. It just means that some schools don’t send something back. Also, I know my undergrad had a short download window so a month after me sending it, the link would’ve already been expired. I think you guys are just getting those emails late because preeeeetty sure they’re not going to 1. Wait a month before downloading your transcript or most importantly 2. Send out decisions before downloading your transcript and making sure you still meet the academic requirements.

They even say in the email saying you made it to phase 2 that if they don’t get your transcript by whatever date they wanted it, they can rescind your interview offer and delete you from the candidate pool. So, no. I don’t think that you guys just now getting something from your own school saying that it was downloaded means anything. Sorry.

That's exactly what I was saying! I think it means absolutely nothing ... that's why I was telling others not to worry if they didn't get an email. It was just my system being weird. Hopefully people will start getting letters in the mail today!
