This seems like an answer for all those 1T4s that were up in arms over the whole PharmD thing. It's a win-win, you only spend 1 extra year getting a PharmD and the university gets to squeeze another year of tuition dollars from you.

Actually it says this program is only for the 1t2 class.

Most people on this forum have very good stats and so sharing it wont really help determine your chances. Aside from comparing your stats against it wont do much help as the 470 applicants all range from 70-99 cGPA. In my opinion it actually discuarages some people that have low cGPA's and PCAT's when others with stats 88% and 95% ,respectively, post it.

That's how UofT refers to "class of 20--" so class of 2015, for example, is referred to as "1T5".

And I believe the T stands for twenty, 1T5 means year of twenty-fifteen.

That is how U of T refers to its classes but I don't think T means twenty because before the 2000s if you were in the class of '98 for example you would be called 9T8 (get it "ninety-eight"). I think that numbering system just carried over to the 2000s for some reason and now it really makes no sense.

This seems interesting. But it is irrelevant for us since we (hopefully) will have a new curriculum to work with. It is never too late to go for PharmD after we complete the new BScPhm and when we have several years of work experience.

You forget though that if the new BScPhm gets approval from the government and you get in and complete it, you'll walk out with a PharmD for the price of a BScPhm and the same amount of time 🙂

Well, in my opinion we are not "less" enthusiastic... but the lower number of posts on this year's forum corresponds to the fewer number of applicants in this year's cycle (there's been at least a 40% drop in number of applicants this year, that's a very significant decrease.)

Also, last year there were a TON of posts about the government cuts with regards to generic drugs which added a lot to the number of posts!


Anyways, hope the time is going by fast for all you guys 😉

p.s. glad that we "survived" the "end of time" so we live to see our acceptance letters 😛😛😛 (hope everyone knows what I mean)

You can check this. In PharmSIS under Phersonal Info you previously entered your PCAT CID.

If you entered your CID correctly it is matched to your personal info and you get:
PCAT Candidate ID Number: xxxxxxxxxx (confirmed with PCAT data)

Well I'm just guessing that's how it's done. They could very well send out physical transcripts, but if I were running the show I'd use the electronic system .

Play some beach volleyball or something😀. I'm stuck indoors for the next couple days since it's supposed to rain. Gave me a chance to catch up on the forum and grow anxious again about June. Guys there is no way that PCAT scores are made available to U of T Pharmacy electronically. It is written on their Candidate Information booklet that a physical transcript is mailed.

As I recall, when you filled in your Toronto application, you gave them the candidate number or whatever it was that pertained to the pCAT. I believe that they just get the physical copies and match the numbers, etc.... otherwise, as mentioned, paying $20 to send more copies to other universities seems like a huge ripoff 😛

I am worried about the same thing too. at first i thought the old cutoffs would let me know for sure if my new pcat score is being used. my old verbal was 17, but now with the new 10 verbal cutoff, i have no way to be 100% sure.

Although we do have the same CID number for both tests, I'm thinking that regardless of what method uft is using to view the scores, all of my account info (with how many pcats i wrote and scores) will should up onces they have my CID (which i'm hoping is unique to every student).

Because that is UofT position but the Ontario Government is different. They might approve PharmD packages with some conditions.

Ya I am wondering about this too. U of T keeps saying its a PharmD curriculum but how do they know if the government hasn't approved it yet? Can't the government request changes that would cause U of T to revise their curriculum once again to have it approved for PharmD

Anyone else paranoid about the university receiving your final transcripts? I requested my transcripts to be sent immediately after my final grades were available (May 10th?) but I have yet to receive a confirmation e-mail from the university.

first few days heavily supervised to make sure i was doing everything correctly but as time passes I have more and more freedom, learning to use alot of cool machines like a flow cytometer... and yeah pretty happy... the only time this whole admission thing gets on my head is during the weekends really...

Yes, you do have to register in first year and get an OCP number... you need it to perform controlled acts in a pharmacy in the capacity of a pharmacy student 🙂

You can pay online through ROSI, administrative site used by U of T. I remember having to pay at least 60% of my tuition up front and the rest sometime in Oct/Nov to avoid ridiculous interest charges (something like 20%/annum).

Best of luck in casino, you'll likely need it to pay your ridiculous tuition fees

ahhh this waiting to hear back is really getting to me! It's all I think about ever since my interview and I keep re-living and evaluating the interview in my head 🙁 I'm still trying to figure out whether I should check their decision in the morning (because that will ruin my day) or at night (so I can sleep on it 😛). 26 more days!!!!
