For those who applied for OSAP, did you apply as full-time students or as graduate (this might be the case if the program's name changes to PharmD right?)... I don't know which to apply as, and I don't know if you can change it later on..
Can we not turn this into a UW vs UofT debate? We should be discussing benefits and drawbacks.

Best pCAT score provided it's been done within 2 years.hi there! I want to get an advice from you guys about the PCAT.
DOes U of T pharmacy only look at best PCAT score? or the lastest PCAT score??cause I noticed that even if you take PCAT multiple times all the scores are sent to the school.
Should be just full-time students far as I know since its still a bachelor atm.For those who applied for OSAP, did you apply as full-time students or as graduate (this might be the case if the program's name changes to PharmD right?)... You applied to Waterloo before? 😕sigh... we have 2 hours left until Waterloo's offer expires. I just have the hardest time declining their offer on Quest, it just feels bad specially considering this would be the second time I have to turn down an offer from Waterloo 🙄

I believe he chose UofT over UofW. They both have their advantages/disadvantages 🙂so what did u decide.. does waterloo has more advantages or u of t??
i might be applying next year as well, so any suggestions are more than welcome..
thanks

You applied to Waterloo before? 😕
Hi Guys,
This is my first message in this forum. i am in waiting list of u of t . Just wanted to get your views that if i have a chance of getting in. 60 to 70 people declining offer seems a bit to much for me to get in..
oh, I see. Architecture is pretty cool, thought about it myself but I dunno if I would like to be crazy critiqued for my drawings 😛Well, when I was applying for univ. back in grade 12 I applied for Waterloo's Architecture program...

kk, I guess its not THAT bad 😛 Well, I'm sure you'll find out soon enough 😉Haha, actually, the critiquing part is the most enjoyable to me (both critiquing others' work, and being critiqued) 😛 But meh, pharmacy started to make way more sense as I did more research... hope I made the right choice 😉
Those people who are from Uoft, do we need to do anything on ROSI or will time come and pharmacy courses get automatically added?

guys since we are taking 12 courses are we 120% course load for OSAP?

Well, each year a good number of people get off the wait list. You didn't say your top half or bottom half. If you're top half, then I'd say you have a very descent shot at getting in... best advise would be to stay positive and just enjoy your summer for now. And don't expect to hear too soon from UofT, sometimes people hear by late August or even early September.
Good luck !
Is there a registration fee for phrosh week?
Yes, the fee for phrosh week is $100. This includes participation at all events, plus admission to the annual Phrosh Banquet which takes place in the middle of September. You can see the phrosh events at www.phrosh.uoftpharmacy.com. The Phrosh Banquet is an event attended by the Dean, Associate Dean, and many professors. This is an excellent way to first introduce yourself to the professors. There are also some guest speakers from the pharmacy community in Ontario, in addition to some representatives from the OPA and OCP. You'll also have your class council announced at this banquet, as voting takes place during the day. Lastly, there's also a dance which you won't want to miss.

GOT IN at UBC, my first choice and will reject UofT. Congrats to whoever is next on the waitlist..

Congrats on getting into UBC 🙂GOT IN at UBC, my first choice and will reject UofT. Congrats to whoever is next on the waitlist..
hmm, I partly agree. I guess since its a professional program, they feel the need to charge more. I can see why it would cost more, but, I don't see why it would be 14k instead of 10k or like UofA, 6k 👎The whole tuition being so high because its a professional program is bull****. The Ontario Veterinary College at U of G is only like $4000 per YEAR and they get a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
Don't give up hope. If you are in the upperhalf of the waitlist, you still have a chance of getting accepted. So far, I think I've read about 3 ppl on SDN rejecting their offer, so, there is still a chance 🙂thanks for the reply... i am in upperhalf of the waitlist. I cant figure out the reason for not being selected
my pcat composite is 80 and met all the requirements
cgpa 93% with 97% in chemistry and i thought my interview also went well.. i am loosing hope now and i think have to consider other options for next year as it seems a bit impossible that 60-70 people will drop or reject the offer
are there many out of province students, by the way?
from vancouver (originally edmonton)
Yeah I'm coming from Vancouver.
And if you're from Van, you wouldn't apply for OSAP.
i stand corrected
Lol yeah. Don't worry. I'm trying to figure all this student loan stuff out too. First time I'm getting one. It's a bit confusing. :S
Is it possible to attend the Phrosh Banquet without having attended Phrosh Week? My family is planning a trip for late August/early Sept. and I'm quite worried we wouldn't make it back until halfway through Phrosh Week.
Also, a little belated, but congrats to those who've received offers! Good luck to those on the waitlist - hang in there!![]()

"the Bank of Nova Scotia has made a line of credit available to qualified students under the Scotia Professional Plan for Students . The University will provide a grant to cover interest on loans borrowed under this Plan up to the level of the assessed unmet need. "
Can anyone provide further clarification, does this essentially mean interest free Scotia line of credit? Any catches to this?
A few related questions. Will the University only cover interest on the Scotia Line of Credit even though National Bank has a lower interest rate? Also, will they only cover interest on money you take out for that year or the length of the loan?
What's the interest rate for National Bank? When I asked about line of credit for pharm students, it was prime+1%, 0.5% higher than what's offered at Scotia.??
They offer prime + 0.0%. It's their best rate, reserved for healthcare professional students.

In fact I've already been approved at that rate but I haven't signed the paperwork yet. I'm wondering if U of T only has this deal with Scotiabank and in that case it might make sense to go with them.
Interesting.... When I asked about prime+0% interest because I thought I read it somewhere, the person at the bank was insisting that it was only for students in medicine... Perhaps I should go to a different branch.
I THINK it's possible, I'm just not sure of the cost. What are the dates of your trip?
hmm, interesting. Does that mean that the interest rate is equal to prime and how does it work because it says annually on their website? Unfortunately, I don't recall my math for interest rates anymore when it comes to annual onesInteresting.... When I asked about prime+0% interest because I thought I read it somewhere, the person at the bank was insisting that it was only for students in medicine... Perhaps I should go to a different branch.
Hey guys,
Do any of you have a link to UofT's old curriculum, I want to see it so I can compare it to ours but I can't seem to find it; I could be going blind though 😉 If anyone has it can you please share it 🙂 thx
