I really wanted to apply to these two schools, but I am seeing on their websites that I was to take the DAT before Feb 1 2014 for USC and Oct 15 2013(!) for UCSF. I am really bummed and surprised that they require the DAT to be taken so early. I have my first DAT scheduled for July 21. Should I still apply to these schools? Note that I am Not a CA resident.

Maybe those are the dates for last application cycle? If you are planning to apply this June and you are scheduled to take the DAT this July you will be ok.

Are you guys 100% sure? I want to believe you two, but on USC's website it says, "The DAT must be taken no later than February 1 of the year for which the application is made."

You were right about UCSF, though 🙂

It's confusing because under UCSF, the ADEA guide even says, "Latest DAT for consideration of application: Official scores must be received by 10/15/2013." but their website says otherwise

We're sure lol. It is written a little confusing but your date is fine. They mean if you submit in Jan/Feb (which is late as hell anyway), you need to take the DAT prior to that date. However, that isn't an issue cause you're applying way earlier than that.

I see what you mean now. Thanks for the clarification!!
