Hi! does anyone know when we should send the College Board AP score report if we used some AP credits to satisfy UCSF dental prereqs? Should I send it now, or only if invited to interview? Post-interview? I've contacted the admissions, but have only gotten automatic email replies.
 
"Why do you want to join the UCSF community? Please state briefly how you will contribute to the UCSF School of Dentistry."

I am having trouble coming up with an answer to this question. Any tips or advice from students at UCSF or students who have answered it?

I'm not sure if anyone can answer why YOU want to attend a particular school or what you would bring to the [figurative] table. Just be honest.

What are some factors that would make someone a good candidate for UCSF as an OOS? I noticed they have high averages for stats. But looking at previous years' threads, I noticed there are applicants with high stats that still received rejections.

I'm really interested in their craniofacial research program.

Generally for OOS applicants applying to schools you’ll want your app to at least try and focus on the schools mission and how you’d fit there. So check out the schools mission on their website and you can get a general idea. Also having connections to the state helps too. But sometimes it can be hit or miss on what makes a candidate for the school

UCSF has 60 spots, they cannot interview everyone "competitive"
sorry, it happens every year, just concentrate on the schools you are still alive at

they could fill the class with 4.0/28-30
but they won't, because that would likely be a nerdy/whiny class...

only 60? wow, I had no idea. I felt particularly good about my UCSF application compared to other schools because of the supplementary questions - gave them a personal story about my involvement with UCSF. I guess that plus my stats, EC's, and strong letter of recs weren't good enough LOOL
