Last year we didn't hear back about interviews until the first week of December... but I'm really hoping that since Thanksgiving is a week later this year that we hear back before they head out for break 😏

Waitlisted again...no surprise. I have a lot of hours but the pools just are too competitive. Every year it gets worse. I was close last year but really the waitlist is pretty extensive and Im not holding out hope. Hoping just leads to disappointment. I put myself out there in my essays. Theres not much more I can do to impress these colleges.

The problem is also im LA and most Vets are SA. I feel my chosen field and hours really hurt me because im not representing 90% of the folks who are in the field. Im so ready to give up because like I said im too old to keep this up.

OOS interview invite!! When I went to a tour there in October, Shelby highlighted the importance of the "what does resilience mean to you?" essay and that was (imo) the worst essay of any I wrote for all of my schools. Super excited!

thats interesting because i feel like vet schools dont see a lot of large animal people (i know where i am from it is hard to find a LA vet that is closer than 30 minutes)
Most reviewers are Small though and ive had my file reviewed at schools where the small is critical of my amount of large animal vs small. The reason im trying is that issue you just brought up. They need more large but theres not the push to get those applicants in.

I agree that there is an influx of small to large animal vets, and talked about how I would love to remedy that in my application. I've always been interested in LA but there has never been a LA vet around in my area (just SA vets who used to practice LA, specifically equine). You are truly destined for great things with the unique LA background you have!!

I have to get in first. Equine is not sustainable without food med or some small animal unless you get out debt free. I talked about that in my essays too that I see the reality of it all and im prepared.

IS rejection 🙁 good luck to everyone that got interview invites!!

You are never too old to follow your dreams!!!! I’ll be 32 in 2 weeks 😳

do you know how many people are on an interview waitlist? is it small or big or no clue?

No idea ! They didn’t disclose that info in the email. But said that if there are any declines for interview they’d let us know.

OOS waitlisted. Looking back at last years forum, it looks like quite a bit of people end up getting waitlisted. So here's to more waiting lol

I also really like the curriculum, since you get to choose small, mixed, or large & focus on it from the beginning. It's relatively close to home for me, I'm from PA. And I have family in VA.

You don’t track until 3rd year. The first two years, all students take the same courses.

I feel like last year not a lot got rejected and the waitlist was real long. Given the fact that they did outright reject people this year, apologies to those that were, the list may be shorter. Biggest factor is they did it earlier this year which means more time for folks to get into their IS and decline interviews with VMCVM which opens up spots for us.

I'm really really rooting for you this year!!!!!!!

Also waitlisted. OOS and first time applicant.
