#254 😞 Wow, that one hurt a lot. I also kind of don't get why the wait list is so big - it kinda gives many of us false hope 😕
Yeah....I was expecting the normal previous years numbers. I don’t really know how to process fully. Here I’ve been thinking as a MD in state cool only 30ish to fight for a seat but over 100.....😕

There's really no chance huh? 😞 Especially being way over #200?

MD-IS #41. Disappointed, but guess it’s just not meant to be🤷‍♀️ Still not sure why they waitlisted so many though.

I’m confused also....the class size didn’t change I don’t think. Idk. I was so excited to make it this far (rejected last year) that it just felt like maybe the year. When I read my number I nearly choked. I wasn’t expecting to see any number over 30 even if I was dead last

I just emailed and asked and Shelby said because they had a huge increase in MD applications and because they didn’t hold interviews they aren’t sure how many people are going to end up declining seats (and I guess even how many waitlisted people are going to drop off by choice).

And I’m in the same boat. I was w listed last year but fairly high up, so I thought I may actually have a chance this year. Bummed because I liked tech and obviously in state tuition, but thankfully I do have other options (just gonna be a nice 400k in debt as a result)

Are they going to continue sending them through the night or do we think they’re done until tomorrow? I sent my e-mail at 7:30 this morning and am anxiously awaiting 🙁

I’ll be pulling myself off the OOS waitlist, I don’t even care to know where I’m at after hearing there’s 300 people on it 😂 good luck y’all lol!

Any success stories that anyone knows of with the IS waitlist for VA? I’m feeling super discouraged and I know 21 is nothing to be upset about...just wondering what my real chance might be :/

I found out I'm #65 OOS. Does anyone know how much the OOS list moves usually? I tried looking at previous years on here but I couldn't find a solid answer. I have a feeling unless something drastic happens or a bunch of people bail I won't be getting a seat but I wanted some other opinions too.

It seems like for previous years it's moved about 10-15 spots. It could always change for this year though!

Normal would be up to 25.

They are not sure what to expect this year though which is why they increased the waitlist size.

Normally some OOS people would decline interviews, for example, but those people are still in the pool since they didn't interview. So I think they are expecting more movement this year. Plus COVID is an unknown variable.

Who else is still waiting to hear about their placement? Do you think they’ll continue emailing over the weekend?
I emailed around 10:30am yesterday and haven't heard back yet. I doubt they'll send emails on the weekend, but I'm sure they'll get back to everyone! They probably just got a ton of emails yesterday.

I'd say more than likely there probably won't be any more emails over the weekend, especially by it being a holiday. Shelby is great at handling all of this though and I'm sure the past couple days have been crazy for her
