I heard UF went up by 500 applicants and Ohio State went up by around 800, so I am sure it about the same across the board.... Unfortunely we have more competition this year :/

I'm IS Virginia as well. My page looks the same.

Do you guys have any idea how they are going to handle fall semester grades since they moved the interview dates up? I just found out my professors don't have to turn their grades in until January 2, and they send the interview invites out that week. I have an essay exam on the 19th so I'm thinking my grades definitely won't be in until the 2nd. I'm going to email Joyce about it, but I figured I'd ask you guys first. 🙂

They normally are part of the last 45 hours GPA. I'm just not sure how they could be this cycle though with the timing of everything...

Where did you hear that UF went up 500 applicants? NC State went up 170 for OOS applicant. 🙁

Last year, I forgot to send in my fall grades (opps) and still got an interview invite. They might not really be considered at all, but who knows if they'll let it slide this year if there are a bunch more applicants.
 
OK....so do we truly know whether or not they require us to send fall transcripts?
 
They do, on the website it says they require unofficial fall transcripts within ten days of the semester ending and then an official transcript by January 15th. I simply emailed Joyce my grades and that was sufficient for the unofficial transcript.
 
I emailed Joyce about it. She wants you to email her your fall grades as soon as you get them, and then send in an official transcript. I think the email is so that they can make sure they get fall grades before the interview invites go out.

Sorry to pretty much repeat what you said! Replied before my phone had updated the thread.

Also, they are sending interview invites out either January 4 or January 7.

Well then they're probably not going to get my grades before they send out invites. 🙄 My grades are due the 2nd and are never up on time. Hope that won't be a problem.

Mine are the same way! Thus my frantic email to Joyce. She assured me everything would be ok. Just send them in when you can 🙂
 
Maybe they're more important for those people on the bubble..

I think historically the emails have all gone out at about the same time, and they can arrive at an absurdly late hour (like after midnight)

"The verification and review process is underway. Invitations for interviews will be sent out the third week of January. Interviews are scheduled for March 1 and 2, 2013 in Blacksburg, VA. Final decision notifications are scheduled for mid-March.
If you have any questions as your application is being processed, I welcome your calls or emails.

I don't think we're supposed to hear anything until later in January, but I hope I'm wrong!

They changed this for this year. Interviews are being held January 25 & 26. I'm hoping to hear some good news tomorrow..:luck:
 
This is the email I received on 11/6/12 and was referring to in my earlier post:

"This email is to make you aware of a change. Interviews at Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine will be held on January 25 and 26, 2013. Interview invitations will be sent out via email the end of the first week of January. I just wanted you to be aware of this for your planning purposes. "

Ahh I'm so scared. I already had to accept an interview at Penn for the 25th so I'm praying I get an invite the 26th!

Luckily my Penn interview isn't 'til Feb. 1. I've been really lucky in how my interviews fall so far. :xf:

I was about to say "Same" but then I realized if I get an LSU interview it's not the next weekend...it's during the first half of that week! :scared:

For those with fall transcript issues - I emailed Joyce about it and she said I wouldn't be penalized for not sending in an unofficial copy within 10 days of the semester ending. My semester ended December 21st and I'm STILL waiting for one of my grades to be posted. Just an FYI for anyone in a similar situation! 🙂

Thanks...I figured it meant as soon as we get grades, since we can't send grades before we get them, but it's nice to have it confirmed. I'm still waiting on all of my grades, though they'll hopefully be posted later today (ha, yeah right).
 
Can't believe how long some of your schools take to post them; that would infuriate me. Finals finished Dec 12 and all grades were due to the registrar by the 17th at noon at my school.
 
Our finals finished Dec. 20, after which I think they probably closed for Christmas, hence the delay. They're up now though, so I just emailed the unofficial report! I just hope my transcripts get sent as soon as possible.

Oh trust me, it is infuriating. My microbio final was on December 18th and the grade still hasn't been posted. There is no excuse for that in my opinion! 😡

Holy jeez they're getting you guys your invitations early this year! I feel like we didn't get ours until some time into February last year. And interview ins January!? Unheard of! We interviewed in March. 😉

Yeah they decided to push it back this year. They were originally scheduled for March, but in November they sent out an e-mail announcing the change. Works for me 🙂
 
JUST GOT MY FIRST INTERVIEW INVITE!!! I burst into tears 🙂 so excited!
