Hi 🙂 I was just wondering if anyone was going to the WesternU Applicant Workshop tomorrow? Has anyone gone to previous workshops? What are they like?
Thanks much 🙂

I went last year. I found it very informative and helpful. It really helped me gain an understanding of the PBL system and how the school works. My visit last year cemented Western as my first chioce. I also found it helpful becuase when interviews came around I had already been to the campus and met some of the admission staff. Others I was with said it made them reconsider their application. Western isn't for everyone and the applicant session really seemed to help the people there see if it was a good fit. The whole day was comfortable, I didn't feel like they were taking notes on us 🙂 Have fun!

haitwun, it was on Nov. 4th @ the university. WesternU sent out an email to all applicants. bubbles 525 explained the workshop the best, they explained the PBL process and answered LOTS of questions.

So Tranquil Cookie, how did it go?

It was a really interesting experience. The day started off with the usual intro of the school & some staff. Then after lunch (which was really fun and laid back because we got to talk to other applicants, staff, and students) we were divided into groups for a PBL session and then we were regrouped for a campus tour.

I feel the workshop really gave me a good idea of how the school works and what they expect from the students. Teamwork is a BIG part of the PBL process and may not be right for all people.

All in all everyone was really friendly and the workshop didn't have "big brother"-omg-they-are-judging-me type of vibe. 🙂
