Random thoughts:
o I was surprised at the fairly recurring "LIS would do ....." theme that ran through the game. On the one hand, the people involved in that train of thought were absolutely correct - I love to confuse things. On the other hand - this was Dyachei's game and I was just along to help. 🙂
o At some point I thought people would come to the realization that they shouldn't put so much stock in the exact wording of the nighttime PMs (especially from me!). In Avengers, people got really caught up in the lightning/electricity thing (I think?). Here, people got *really* focused on the riddles. That was pure happenstance - Dyachei sent out the first few PMs and used the woodchuck comment. I sent a night out and decided to use an actual riddle. Dyachei picked up on that and continued. Poor SOV got the woodchuck tongue twister and was then raked over the coals. But there was no actual change in the game - it was just wording.
o Players never do what you want. I already knew that, but .... it's fun to see. You throw objects out there thinking "this will have X effect" ... and then players confound you. For people who haven't modded, you should try it sometime if only to see how the players totally don't follow the script. It's neat.
o This game was very, very simple mechanistically, since there were no villager roles. It was intended to be object heavy. And the lack of villager roles was meant to confuse.
o Catwoman was neutral. At the risk of contradicting my first comment, she might have been added purely because I was sure somebody would say "no way - LIS hates neutral characters." More about her in a bit.
o Hat-tip to Krist for playing along with a difficult mayor role. Thank you, Krist. Krist was predetermined to be mayor. The vote was theater. Corruption was at work.
o Here are the objects. They had a 50% chance to move every night, in general:
Batmobile - protection. (The RNG loved SOV and gave it to him all the way to Day 7, which is the only reason he survived so long.)
Bat Signal - Summoned the Dark Knight, who had a chance to silence or kill.
Utility belt - Allowed movement. Amazing how often "spray so 'n so with shark repellent" was picked, even though that didn't do anything.
Detective's badge (x2) - Investigatory item, no special rules. Had any of you investigated someone twice we would simply have revealed more about them to you, in the case of a wolf, or been more definite in our response (if a villager).
Press Badge - Allowed you to do the night write-up. Use of the item protected you from the following day's lynch.
Batarang - Silence attack
Two-face's coin - Swung an RNG situation in your favor.
Joker's Make-up - 50/50 chance of appearing to be a villain or villager if you were investigated. Didn't happen.
Bomb - Purely there to annoy. You had to use it or pass it. If you opted to do nothing, it exploded with a chance (I think 25%) to kill you.
Mayor's Phone - Allowed you to talk with any one other player for the entire day/night.
Bat Cuffs - Prevented action at night.
Venom - Using the venom gave you a 50% chance to attack someone, or die.
Catwoman's Whip - A tease item. Allowed you to make someone post in pics.
Freeze gun - Intended to destroy items. Was there partially for the bomb and partially for the wolves, but it never fell in their hands.
o I got a great deal of enjoyment out of watching the banter about whether there could be two detective badges. Thank you.
o Also thank you to our press-badge writers, who did an awesome job.
o Villains:
The Joker - 25% chance to escape lynch; could only be killed by lynch.
The Riddler - Makes one person talk in questions every night.
Two-Face - Investigates as a villager. Obsessed with the number 2 and had to include it in every post at least once.
Scarecrow - Scares the crap out of his victim. Can cause someone to talk in terror for a day/night, or could try and force the victim to kill someone (25% chance). If the player opted for the latter and failed, then the victim suffered no consequences at all and would have known that somebody had tried to force them to kill another player.
Mad Hatter - Could force another player to post a specific message in the public thread on odd days. The forced player could not post again until after the lynch.
Poison Ivy - Reserve villain. The reserve villain roles were mostly not fleshed out.
Calendar Man - Reserve villain.
Ra's al Ghul - Reserve villain.
Crazy Quilt - Reserve villain.
o Back to our neutral player Catwoman, who had some ridiculous restrictions because, as everyone knows, I really DO hate neutral characters. She would have won in the event of a three-way tie (villager/villain/Catwoman). She could post only once per day. In a picture. With no verbiage. That had to have a cat in it. About her only saving chance was that she could steal objects - by name - at night. So in theory she could have stolen the car to protect herself (at least from being killed). She'd have a 50/50 chance to lose it again, but.... better than nothing. DVMD came at it sideways and asked if she could draw pictures and post them so that she could put in more content than just a slew of pics grabbed from google. I was really impressed with that and was totally looking forward to seeing where that would go - and then Joker killed her night 1. I came very close to fudging those results because I really wanted to see how the hand-drawn pics would work out, but in the end I couldn't get myself to bend the rules. Thanks for being a good sport, DVMD.
o Last, to Dyachei: I was able to help out far, far less than I did in the last game I co-modded. Sorry! Everything just kept falling at a bad time.
