Dude, Devyn, we SO need to get together sometime. My husband is often caught telling people I could drink anyone under the table.

The exception, possibly, being my own mother....I come from good Irish/German stock. 😛
 
I am just starting to read/watch GoT...good so far! Are the books and tv show pretty similar? Is this game based more off books or shows?

The first season follows the book pretty closely
 
Also I really enjoy that Petyr Baelish's expression in my avatar is always one of mild disgust with the "what the shiiiiiiit" squint in his eyes. Makes everything I say have a nice air of sarcasm right from the start.

So is there something to you constantly posting "Winter is coming" at the end of all of your posts? I was goin to ask earlier but it happened to be right after one that you didn't write it on lol. Just curious if it's an item that makes you say it every time or something. Or maybe I'm way too brainwashed by WW games and think everything has to do with an item or role :laugh:. Don't forget, I am a complete GoT noob and only know that winter means the wall will freeze. Although I have to admit I don't even know if that's a good or bad thing 😕

It is a saying from the book. It is kind of catchy. It has a literal and figurative meaning. Figuratively it means hard times are ahead. And as we know in WW games, that is always true!

Yeah, "Winter is Coming" is the motto of House Stark, because they are the northern most house. And the reason it's a big deal is because seasons in Westeros don't work the same as they do in our world. Seasons last a number of years, and it always changes. In the books, they just had the longest Summer *ever* - it was many, many years long. So they're afraid they're about to have the longest Winter ever, and don't have enough stores to keep everyone fed and alive. Winters in Westeros are brutal. So the Wall freezing is a bad thing - it signifies that Winter is just around the corner.

The night is lonely, dark, and deep. The men of the Night's Watch pace along the wall looking for what enemies there are. But who are their enemies? Surely the missing wildlings are not to be feared.

In the Dothraki sea, winter is not a concern. Khals fight khals and take their women as they please. Long sandy seas span the leagues between the horselords.

In Winterfell, they prepare by filling their stores with grain. A harsh people for a harsh land.

King's landing is quiet for a change. The people are hungry but in mourning.

Fromthebox, Sansa Stark has been found dead in her chamber. Her body feels cold, oh so cold, and her neck is badly bruised.

jjohnston, an other, has also been found dead. Or at least, dead again. The people quickly burn the body. This is the enemy of old, come again.

In the distance, a fearsome shadow flies over the land.

Did someone just have a really lucky guess and have a killing-type item? Unless there are two bad guy groups... and they each get to kill each night.

We lost two?! Sansa Stark and an other, better than two villagers at least. But what does "Or at least, dead again. The people quickly burn the body. This is the enemy of old, come again." mean?

an Other is an ancient bad guy. The Others are the reason the wall was built.

Don't worry about losing one nerd, there are a few more of us left.

I don't know the answer to your question but there were two bad guy groups in a game I modded so it is definitely possible.

The others can be like zombies. Need to burn them to make sure they don't come back to life.
