Well. That was one heckuva trip. Mods, I hope I did it justice for you. I hate you.
Apparently someone spiked the communion wine with V. I was told I was having a crazy Jesus trip.
Here's my defense. I imagine I'm getting lynched anyway, so whatever.
1) I am, indeed, the (not so good) Rev. Steve Newlin. Dunno where Abney got her intel, but it's accurate. That is precisely the reason I didn't want to out my role earlier, because even though I don't know this series, I at least wiki'd my role and found out that he's really a pretty big douche bag. It was clear to me that if I outed my role I'd get "no way that's a villager". Which, I might point out, is exactly what has happened.
In fact, though, DocE was exactly correct when he noted the possibility that I am a villager, my stake-attack was a one-time ability, and it was a poor choice of targets. I think from what I read that Newlin actually becomes a vamp at some point? As far as I know, I'm still human. I just want to avenge my father's death at the hands of vamps.
2) I was on the Lissa lynch before almost any of you. Not the day she was actually lynched, but the day before. Would I really do that as a wolf?
3) If I were a wolf, would I really have staked the target I did? (And swingnsave, I'm sorry about that. I had nobody that was really any higher on my suspicious list than anyone else, and you just stuck out to me.) Think about who I really would have picked if I were a wolf.
4) Since my role is now outed, there's no reason to hold back. My staking was a one-time ability that had to be done during the day. I used it yesterday because it seemed clear to me I was going to get lynched today and I didn't want to risk the lynch vote ending before I even got online and had a chance to use it. I figured a two-wolf kill (assuming, at the time, that Lissa was going to turn out to be a wolf) would be epic, and might keep me from getting lynched. So I just went for it. *shrug* Didn't pay off. I was originally hoping to hold off until I had a good reason to think someone was a wolf. I actually considered staking Lissa, but decided that y'all would just say "Oh, you saw she was going down so you tried to take advantage of it to clear yourself."
5) The V has worn off and I'm back to being normal. Sorry, SOV. 🙂 As far as I know from the mods, there are no lasting effects. No more Jesus ranting.
6) I'm puzzled about one thing. Somebody sent me that message about a convertee in my group earlier in the game. If it was from a wolf ... that's odd. Why draw attention to my group with Lissa in it? If it was from a villager ... why didn't somebody speak up when DocE questioned whether I really received one? Somebody is being a douche, who could have at least clarified that I'm telling the truth about that. You suck.
7) The investigation on Lissa came back with some language about her being sinister. Note that mine did not. (At least, I presume so, or Abney would have said so.)
8) Nobody's going to listen to this until you lynch me and the villager numbers go down by one, so tuck this away until after that: Quit being dumb and putting so much emphasis on whether someone's role is a turd when deciding whether they are a wolf or not. OBVIOUSLY the mods have set this up so that we have villagers with jerk roles. The Boba Fett test does not work in this game.
So. I've said my bit. Lynching me drops the villager numbers. If you just can't stand having the Rev Newlin around, fine, so be it. But if that's the case, you're losing sight of the bigger picture of villagers vs wolves, and you're handing the wolves an easy kill.
Last: One more apology to swing. Sorry.
G'luck, villagers!
