Hey guys,
I just got the best phone call today. Dr. Kasberg of Indiana University called me to let me know that I should be getting an interview packet next week and he would prep me for the interview! He also told me not to stress about my DAT scores which was good to hear.

Ah, today is awesome!

Can an interviewer prep an applicant for an interview? - what's the point of having an intrview then?
 
I thought IU sent out interview invites via snail mail. Has anyone else been called to let them know about an interview invite at Indiana? I really hope I get an interview from their school....although I probably shouldnt harass the mail man everyday (lol).
 
Interview invites from Penn (received 8/28) and Columbia (received 9/1).

Well I am going to get the interview invite in the mail next week or so. He just wanted to let me know that I should be getting an interview. It was all very weird to me as I have not received anything from them yet, not even asking for my application fee.
 
Marquette interview... i guess they have decided to interview people this year, although according to their website they haven't in the past.
 
I finally received an interview today. UNC called me this afternoon to offer me the interview date 10/16. (It appears some others have received the good news from UNC today as well, "Congratulations Trypmo!!!" ) 😀

I have only applied to two other schools, (Meharry & VCU) and I haven't heard from them yet. 🙁 So, I will continue waiting for these, but it sure does feel good to have that 1st interview secured for now!!!

Since classes are canceled (campus is flooded thanks to "Frances"), I think I will just sit around and glow the rest of the afternoon. 😎
 
They have decided to change policy on interviewing and now require an interview for all applicants.

What was your stats that got you the interview at OSU?
 
Just got a letter for an interview at UF at the end of this month!!! I'm so excited..I hope I do well.

I got an invite for interview at Marquette.

In the letter they said that they are interviewing the out-of-state applicants for a total of 40 spots. I called the school to set up an appointment and casually asked how many people are interviewing and she told me 60 and that this might be the only round of interviews. If that is the case, then if you got an interview your chances of getting an offer must be very high.


Good thing, because it would suck to go all of the way to Milwaukee and not get in 🙂
 
just called boston to check to see if my file was complete and they told me that I got an interview. That was exciting.

My stats (that got me an interview at OSU)

Science : 3.5
Overall : 3.54
AA 21 PAT 21

I am an out of state applicant though.

The reason why OSU's average matriculants GPA (3.5) is high is because of the out-staters who get in, they pull the average GPA up. In-state matriculants have lower average GPA (around 3.3).

Got a letter from OHSU saying they were going to start reviewing applications soon. I haven't sent my application fee in yet, so I'm taking it as a kick in the bootay to do so. 🙂

I have no idea. My AADSAS number is 402, but stats weren't competitive at all: DAT 18/19/20. I already had 2 interviews, so hopefully, by that time I will already know my acceptance status :luck:

I remember you had interview at CASE, where was your 2nd interview?
 
I got an email from University of Maryland saying that after I send in the secondary application, they will contact me for an interview. So does that mean that I am going to get an interview for sure? Since this is my first responce from a school, I don't know how it works.

Hey MO007, my second interview was at Indiana U. last week.
 
You will get an interview for sure after you send in your secondary. They will contact you right away.

Secondary from Colorado and a letter from OHSU.
 
Letter from UPitt stating that my file is complete and will be reviewed by the adcom in the next two weeks.
 
When you receive an invite to interview, does the school schedule you for the date they want you to come in or do you pick the date?

Im noticing people that received their invites around the same time have interviews in october and others have them in december? What's up with that?

Depends on the school, my invite to Maryland was for a specific day but I had no problems changing it to a date two weeks later. My Temple and VCU interviews were "call us and set up the appointment that's best for you, we interview on Tues, Wed, and Fri (Temple) & Mon-Fri (VCU). My Ohio State was scheduled for a specific date so as you can see each school does it a little differently.
 
I was accepted into the gateway to dentistry program at UMDNJ !!!!!!! YAY 😀

received a letter from UDM saying a "formal acknowledgement packet" would be arriving in the mail soon. not really sure what that means, but it sounds good 😀 ...schools don't send you packets, if you are rejected.

I got the same letter from UDM yesterday. I wonder if this is just a general letter they send to everyone.
