don't they have to tell us by march 15th to comply with AAMC rules (need to have offered at least as many acceptances by 3/15 as there are spots in the class)?

I'm not sure how that actually works. I mean, UPenn's not getting back to people until the end of the month and that's how they usually do it.

In case anyone was curious, 2nd look is April 23/24th
Same weekend as UCLA/Michigan/WashU 🙁

I just emailed them to ask because I wanted to leave that weekend open as I was scheduling my MCAT teaching schedule.

So I read on the Yale website that they are letting everyone know of all admission decisions by March 31st. So, does anyone know exactly when they are notifying all applicants? Is it the 14th, 20th or 31st???

At the interview, they said March 20th. However, last year, they released them on March 14th. So, it's possible that decisions could come out as early as tomorrow. 😱

I called to ask and they told me March 20th (snail mail + email)

However I guess its not totally impossible that they could come earlier..?

OK cool, thanks for doing that shemarty.

Nothing for me today. Anybody else? Guess we're waiting till next Friday....or I'm rejected 😛.

I believe that the MSAR also says March 20th. It is possible that they will send out the letters a few days early, so that they supposedly reach everyone on the 20th.

I'm hoping for either an acceptance or rejection. No waitlists please; I need closure on this admissions cycle.

I agree!

My Duke rejection today felt better than my Columbia waitlist last week...but I'm *really* hoping for a Yale acceptance...

I was trying to find a trend in my decisions (acceptances vs waitlists, vs rejections), but I don't think statistics/probability works when it comes to med school admissions.

*sigh*

i would totally be satisfied with a waitlist decision, i really don't want to be rejected. if i got accepted i would probably have a heart attack and then get wasted. well i'll probably do the same thing if i get rejected. or waitlisted. i am coherent.

(Yay 4-chan memes...?)

Why is there a question at the end of this statement? 4-chan memes are baller-shot caller. I will gladly be your brosef just because you know what they are.

And to remain somewhat on topic with this thread, I probably lean towards the "reject me, and stop messing with me" side of premeds. I'd love to go Yale, but I've got other options (as I'm sure the overwhelming majority of Yale interviewees do as well). As someone posted above, we all seem eager to start planning our lives for the next 4 years, so I'd like to get that party started, instead of checking this thread every frickin' hour.

Haha. You probably won't be the only one...

haha, 4-chan memes can be pretty awesome. 😀 The place itself, however, is questionable. I generally stay away and let my friends bring the memes to me.

I would actually much rather be Wait Listed than rejected. I am not immediately thrilled with my one acceptance (I am thrilled because it is an acceptance, and therefore I'm going to be a doctor, but I didn't get a good feel from my Interview day. Still, if I end up there I will be happy in the end. Just not right now) so chances to go to other schools are awesome, even if they mean dragging this process out longer.

is anyone else already compulsively checking their inboxes?

they notify via email? (even for MSTP?)

Called the office. Decisions will come by letter, letters will be mailed on Friday. Dunno if this is just MSTP or MD as well, but am guessing applies to MD too given above comments.
Good luck everyone!

Does this mean they don't send emails anymore?

I thought they were going to send the letters early so they are received by friday, or email us??? That sounds weird. I would think acceptances are emailed and WL/rejections are snail mailed, but I dont know.

It is a bit weird. In any case, just repeating what they told me.
I don't really care about the MD-only decision, so I'm just going to count on not knowing where I stand until I receive the MD/PhD letter sometime next week...
Maybe an MD-only person can call their office and check?

I called and was told that decisions would be sent by postal service. This means that we probably won't know until Monday. 🙁

the same snail mail runaround

why cant they JUST CLICK SEND?! (harvard knows what's up 😀)

I'm close enough that I should hear by Saturday, unless the USPS is ridiculously inefficient. I'm not sure I want to hear on Saturday though. Could make or break my weekend.

are we sure the letters are being sent on friday?

for those concerned...

MSTP decisions will be going out friday VIA EMAIL

however, don't know what this means for reg MD decisions

gluck everyone...itll all be over soon...

Are ALL MSTP decisions sent out by email, or just acceptances? I seriously don't get the point of segregating those two; just give it to us straight.

i think it's 'all correspondences', so both...gracias a dios

Accepted at 6:30 AM Western Time!

Same here, acceptance via e-mail @ 9:30am EDT. Looks like they all went out simultaneously.
