Some of us were allowed to reschedule our interview day because of the blizzard (canceled flights). New invites? I have no idea.

so is 3/19 the day that decisions come out? The wait is killing me....I will most definitely come here if I get accepted.

Anyone know when we find out? Also how we find out, whether through email, call or mail?

Thanks,

PhiAlpha

Really no one knows?

When I was there on the 19th, we were told that all decisions would be made by March 15th, and we would hear by email a short time after. So basically that gave me the impression that we would know either that week or the following (March 22nd).

When I was there, my host told me that they usually send an email to accepted applicants and mail them the official acceptance letter via snail mail some time later.. For waitlist/rejected people, they just get the snail mail with no e-mail. I am not entirely sure tho'. Good luck everyone..

Loved Yale. Hope my one good interview outweighed my one bad interview. We'll see pretty soon!

Nice to have an acceptance in the bag to take the stress off of waiting to hear from Yale (like probably everyone on this thread)

So according to the FAQ on Yale's website:

"Yale does not have "rolling admissions." Decisions for all applicants are made in March, and decision letters will be mailed by March 15."

So I would assume that we should know via email on/before March 15, and then receive the decision by mail.

Yale was the first school to give me an interview, and also the school that I think I had my best interviews at. I am so anxious to hear back from them.

wow, I was under the impression that we would hear late March, because I swear the last time I checked their website they said by March 31st, but now it has been updated to the 15th... 😱 that's in a week, time to freak out. I love Yale sooo much, it's my alma mater and my home is like 10 miles away, I would probably cry if I get in!

Seems like for the past two years they've said March 20th and given decisions on March 14th and March 19th

so by that logic, this year since they said march 15th we'll hear back between march 9th and march 14th

one of my md/phd friends was accepted to yale today. we can't be too far behind

Ah!

jla, keep such stressful thing to yourself. 😛

ok i take it back...i most definitely have not seen his acceptance letter, and he is a pathological liar, so we can assume that yale is nowhere near sending out MD acceptances 😀

you are making me very nervous.....i don't know if i will be able to sleep tonight.....thanks.

i haven't really given any information that should change your sleeping habits 😉 md/phds are accepted at totally different committee meetings by two separate programs. we'll probably hear next week like in past years

Was your mdphd friend's acceptance through email or snail mail?? 🙂

i think email but that's a guess

called a few days ago...the committee is in final deliberations so we should be hearing back very soon

so what were people's opinions on new haven? liked it? didn't like it? or will it depend entirely on what yale tells you next week?

Not favorite city, but I wouldn't mind living there. I'm not a big city girl. It seemed like there was more to do there than I expected.

I think I like New Haven. Most of the town is Yale basically, and it seems that everything is within walking distance, so I would not need a car. I will definitely come to Yale if I'm accepted, gotta keep my fingers crossed.

As a Yale med student, you will spend most of your time on campus at the med school, or possibly on central campus too if there is something you have to do. You'll frequent some of the off-campus housing areas, the local bars, restaurants, clubs, and shops, but the other parts of New Haven you won't be visiting. As for safety, New Haven is much safer than a larger city like Baltimore as long as you stay in the right parts (which will have all the places that you would consider going to anyways). It won't have what a big city offers, but if you are craving that, you can just catch an hour 40 minute long Metro North train from Union station to Grand Central, NYC.

I liked it. Sure it isn't the safest city but it has a nice feel to it. I didn't get a lot of time to look around before and after my interview but I'm hoping for another chance.:xf:

How many Yale students are needed to change a light bulb?

- None. New Haven looks better in the dark.

but any news on when we hear??? could it be tomorrow?

I was wondering that as well, but I doubt anyone here will know for sure. Weird that it's so soon. I can't imagine you kids who have been waiting since September. It hasn't even been a month since I interviewed.

I just got off the phone with an admissions woman at Yale, and she told me that everyone would be getting the admissions decision either today or tomorrow.

umm, by "getting an admissions decision" does that mean they will be mailed out today or tomorrow (with e-mails for acceptances of course) or that all the mail is somehow ARRIVING today or tomorrow :scared:

Just got the email as well! Still shaking. Good luck everyone!

Just also got the email, I'm real pumped. Did not expect this today.

GOT THE EMAIL!!!!!!!! so so so excited!!!!!!

im guessing only one round of acceptances? so everyone's e-mail is time-stamped 11:07 EST or so?
