ACCEPTED!!!!!!!!!!

Mr. Larkin called and I was like 😕 But then I was like 😱 and now I'm like 😎

First acceptance, almost 10 months since the day this whole process began. I got into my first choice and I'm so EFFIN excited!

Only thing left is...Go Magic!!

Just removed myself from the waitlist (top third)! Hope this spot opens a seat in the coming weeks for someone who really wants to go here 🙂 Good luck everyone!!

what "part" of the waitlist were you in?

I was accepted yesterday! :soexcited:And to answer your question, I was also in the top third. Don't lose hope guys, I know it can get tough -- but May 15 is around the corner

It is possible 🙂 I am so excited. UCF COM is truly impressive. Keep your hopes up, guju!

In-state, will be turning in my UCF acceptance for USF COM. Very tough choice, but it came down to overall track record for me. Good luck to anyone on the waitlist. May 15 is coming soon!

Maybe I'm just being slow and still waking up this morning, but your wording confused me.

So you are saying you are turning down UCF right?? And going to USF instead??

Just making sure I'm reading it correctly

Lol sorry about that, I edited it... yep, I'll be attending USF in the Fall 🙂. Good luck!

9 days. god time is going soooooooooooo slowly when you want it to speed up but it goes sooooooooooooo fast when you need it to slow down.

All this past semester I was wanting time to slow down when I was working on thesis but as soon as I've had time off now that thesis and labbage is over, I'm like wanting time to speed up. I need to really start reading or doing something else with my free time to take my mind off of it.

at least slowly with each day one more person drops their seat freeing a spot for people like and me. I hope this trend continues.

Hoping some OOS students will follow... seems like its only been IS movement so far. Anyone know if people accepted off the waitlist after May 15th have time to see the financial aid packet given to them before making a choice over another acceptance?

Well I think its like 15k for out of staters and 3-5k for in staters in scholarship isn't it?

But I'd imagine they'd give 1-2 weeks to make a decision whether or not to drop a potential acceptance, that's the usual with waitlists.

Thanks. And I thought I read somewhere someone said there was the potential for the OOS to be 25,000 but maybe it was never confirmed.

I just withdrew my acceptance here today. I am IS. UCF is a great school, and I hope someone gets to hear good news today!

So I just heard from doctraveler that they are into the lower half of upper 1/3 of waitlist already.

That means that either some people dropped positions on waitlist due to acceptance elsewhere or close to half the class already dropped acceptances.

Woohoo, a step closer for me.
+1 confirming lower half of upper 1/3 movement, dropped my acceptance recently as well. Difficult decision as I was truly impressed by many aspects of this program. Best of luck to remaining WLers, keep the faith!

Just wanted to confirm all of the questioning and speculation of OOS students on the waitlist getting passed over when IS spots are available. I have been at the very very top of the waitlist as an OOS since Feb and have yet to be called. 🙁 There must have been no movement from OOS yet, who knows if it will ever happen.

Surprisingly the vast majority of the limited movement that we have had has been in-state....I have had conversations with OOSers and I know of two who will be leaving soon.....ur next.

Thank you thank you! I was losing hope a little bit. 🙂

Is it really down to the lower-half of the upper third???

I need something to cling too....It's get harder as it gets later!!

Finally accepted!!! So excited 🙂 OOS top of upper 1/3. Now to make the hard decision. 😍😀

Hey everyone,

I was in the Upper part of the middle third of the wait list and i received an offer of acceptance today! I guess there really was a lot of movement today. I just thought i would let you guys who are on a similar spot on the waitlist know that there is still hope and you guys might be hearing back from them very soon.

Also, i know this is kind of a noob question but: If i have more than one acceptance, what exactly do i have to do by tonight? UCF told me that i can have a couple of weeks to decide about the school but i was wondering if there is anything i have to do in an official capacity to not lose any of the acceptances i have been offered.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

So I'd like to confirm that the waitlist has crept into the upper half of the middle third; I was just offered a seat at UCF, which I am most definitely taking. I'll be seeing you all this Fall! Best of luck to everyone else who's waiting! :luck:

wow. So what other waitlists were you taken off btw? Or am I being nosy? you can tell me if I'm being nosy. I was just curious cuz ur post in may 15th thread. 🙂

Congrats.

No, you're not being nosy. My second acceptance is from FIU.

I will be joining you all at UCF!!!! Just got off the waitlist today!!!! lower-half of upper third! SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PUMPED!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!!! 🙂

😀😀😀 Super excited!!! Don't know how to react! I am now a Knight in a white coat of armor!! LOL! All I can say is Thank you soooo much REL and UCF for believing in me! I can't wait to meet everyone and get this year started! I wish the best of luck to everyone else out there that is still hanging on by a thread (no pun intended for anyone reading this thread), don't ever give up! I never gave up and that's the only reason why I got so lucky!! Also, I am sure a ton of people have already asked but I couldn't find it in earlier posts but does UCF COM Class of 2015 have a FB page? If so, I would appreciate a link!
And as for stats go: 30 MCAT, undergrad I will not even go into so lets just assume horrible, graduate school-3 master's programs in which I completed two. The first masters program I removed myself from with a 3.97 gpa due to the program not being exactly what I thought it was. I have a total graduate gpa of 3.9 over ~95 credit hours. I was placed on the Upper Middle Third of the waitlist. Great LOR's, lots of EC's, minimal research due to working 45-50 hours per week through out my schooling. Applied to over 20 schools, both M.D. and D.O. Rejected pre-interview from all except 3. Interviewed at 3. Accepted at 2, and removed myself from waitlist at 3rd. Removing myself from other acceptance to be a Knight! If anyone has any questions just let me know. Good luck everyone! NEVER GIVE 😀UP!!!!!!👍

Good luck in Philly if you are going where I think you are going in the fall. 🙂

I was just thinking of you yesterday. 🙂

Best wishes for your future. 🙂
Thanks, if I could pick who gets my seat I'd gladly give it to you 🙂 Best of luck!

Aw thank you buddy. 🙂.

Good luck to you too.

Haven't posted on here much: I was accepted from the UCF waitlist Monday. Prior to May 15 - I had ZERO acceptances; now with two acceptances in hand, I want to tell everyone waiting to keep their heads up!

After much consideration, I will be moving to Miami in the fall and joining the FIU College of Medicine 😀 Tough decision - if anyone wants to PM me that is in a similar bind, I'd be happy to discuss! I hope the best for you all!

yay! thanks! I also have a friend that is most likely giving up his UCF seat in order to attend UF med or BU med, he hasn't decided :😎

+1 UCF Withdrawal - my friend chose to go to Boston University School of Medicine in the fall 😀 I think he made a good decision... BU has a highly regarded med program that is def hard to pass up. WL waiting continues...

Withdrew, it was an extremely tough decision. Good luck everyone!

+1 Just posting that one In-state UCF seat is now available. I have had a seat at UCF since I was accepted this past February... I love the building/school and had every intention of going here in the Fall, but I have recently been accepted off 2 other med program waitlists that both have more solid track records than UCF and I believe are safer decisions in the long run. It was great meeting everyone. I wish the best of luck to you all. Good luck!

Thanks for posting, best of luck to you!

I deferred my admission for one year - will be spending my time doing hospital clinical research and international volunteer work. Although this was very much a last-minute decision, I came to my senses and realized that I was not 100% prepared to enter medschool come August. Aside from personal family stuff, I needed a break after graduating to ensure that I had zero distractions so that I could fully embrace the demands of medschool - and I am confident that I will be ready after taking this deferred time. REL and the staff were extremely supportive and helped make the process very seamless.

So nice meeting everyone, good luck, I'll see you next year!

Deferred yesterday... really needed some time to enjoy myself / travel / work to save up money for medschool. goodluck to everyone starting classes... bye until next year!! 😀
