Anybody who interviewed the week of Sept 26th or after hear back yet about waitlist or rejection?

I interviewed Sept 27th, and I'm still waiting. I think there are few others on SDN who interviewed that week who are still waiting as well.

11+ weeks since i interviewed
still nothing!!

no waitlist, no acceptance.. called last week and was still under review lol

whats the deal you think?

has anyone heard anything since the 26th? according to sdn, that was the last set of phone calls.

I interviewed on September 30th and got waitlisted a few weeks ago. . .

hm actually one of my friends got an acceptance call today, so i probs got waitlisted. meh, vandy's still awesome tho

ugh just called and they said they sent something out a few days ago to my preferred address.

im guessing this is a waitlist. i am absolutely crushed but at almost 12 weeks since i interviewed, at least its out of my mind now.

still, whats the waitlist like here?

They received my 2nd MCAT Score sometime in mid-September...

Since I haven't heard back for a secondary/interview does it seem like a silent rejection??

Thanks all!

Vandy seems to be pretty good about not stringing people along. If you haven't heard anything yet, I'd say you're still in the running. I'm pretty sure people received rejection e-mails pre-secondary.

When did you/your friend interview? The wait is making me just the slightest bit nuts.

They sent out snail mail rejections pretty promptly last year, so you would know if you were already rejected. From what I understand, they aren't a silent rejection school. You're still in the game!

Does your status change on the website before you get your acceptance/WL/rejection letter?

The only thing that changed was a confirmation of acceptance link and a background check authorization link appeared. These didn't show up for me until a few days after I got the call.

Thank you for the input! I hope I can pull an int!

omg just got a call from dean zic

saw the 615 area code and was in absolute shock

i guess i may have been a bit too quick to judge but this is definitely the best news i feel like i have ever received

to everyone who applied, it has literally been almost 12 weeks since i interviewed and i just heard back, felt like i had lost hope. keep your head up, don't think too much about anything because you never know what may happen

EDIT: i couldn't stop saying thank you, etc. during that phone call. i really didnt know what to say. i hope i didn't leave a bad impression or anything, but i was just in shocked lol

Congratulations!!!

Accepted today! Anyone else hear back from the interview day that we talked about gators?

^I was at that interview!!! I haven't heard yet though... uh oh.

Although I guess I should say I haven't checked my mail yet either though. Plus I'm on the west coast. I'll keep my optimism pants on for now.

Ahhh!!! I was there that day! Congratulations...seriously...what a HUGE accomplishment. Now I will commence freaking out every time my phone rings. Good luck to all of the other gator enthusiasts :luck:

Okay, that was a cruel joke that the universe just played on me.

OF COURSE my sister got a new phone line today IN NASHVILLE and called me from an unknown 615 number to tell me about it. I hate my life. I totally thought it was Vandy.

Wow that's seriously rough.

Congrats on all the acceptances!

Interviewing here in ~2 weeks and really excited about it!

Just got a call from Dean Zic earlier today! Interviewed 10/26, so I was nowhere close to expecting a 615 call anytime before Christmas, lol. Good luck to everyone else out there still waiting to hear back!

Interviewed 10/11, accepted yesterday!! I'm so excited - I love Vanderbilt so much!
Can't wait to meet everyone in April 😀

Good luck to both of you and I hope you get acceptances soon.

Does anyone know when the current interview is booked up until? I hope it is not full for January!

Hey guys,

sorry for being MIA, the second years had a really big test yesterday and the first years have one I think tuesday and wednesday...so it's been a busy couple of weeks, since on top of studying for our test, we also were setting up lot of practice exams and review sheets and such for the kiddos before their test. It's part of the Vanderbilt tradition, but it really does take up a lot of time!

I see there are a bunch of new people on the team...welcome! And as for the waitlistees: no idea if letters of interest work, but it's worth a shot...

Anyway, just wanted to stop by and say hi, make sure y'all were doing ok. I hope everyone comes to second look weekend! I still absolutely love being here and wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

Interviewed on 10/15 and just received my 'on hold' letter. Hopefully it turns into an acceptance later in the cycle!

I missed a phone call from the school/med center while I was in class, and when I called the admissions office after to check they said they had no record of anyone calling me.
I got the acceptance call from the same number last month so I assumed it was the admission office again.

Does anyone know what this is about?

Maybe an oopsie? Or a scholarship offer? Who knows.

I'm sure it will! Keep us posted and good luck. I guess I'll be checking my mail when I get home...🙂

does everyone who is not accepted post-interview get on the "continue to review" list?

Yes, I am fairly certain that "continue to review" was just a nicer way of telling us that we have been put on the waiting list.

Although it is kind of nice imagining that I'm being continually reviewed, and not just waiting.

so they don't reject post-interview then?

Its killing me that applicants with scheduled interviews for vandy cant take the spot of someone else who has withdrawn from an interview date that is earlier than theres 🙁... My interview is scheduled for the 14th of January and it seems soooooo far away..

It was actually my interviewer calling to congratulate me and check up on how things are going. He called me again today.
Very nice of him!

does anyone know when the committee meets and if they actually review all applicants (and if at these meetings they continue to review the waitlisted people?).

Interviewing tomorrow and have a random question - if I have an afternoon interview do I need to be there before the 1115 info session?

Nah, unless you just want to explore campus a little bit (it's pretty right now!) I had an afternoon interview and just showed up at 11. That's when they start the info session/lunch and you go straight to your interview after that.

Good luck!

Anyone from the 10/15 interview date not heard anything from Vandy yet? I'm debating whether to call and ask about my status...

Just finished up my interview day and they told us that it could take 8 weeks to hear back.

this is just from my experience, but i waited like 2.5 months before finally getting that acceptance, and it happened within a week of when i called to check up on my application status. could be a pure coincidence since it was about time to hear back anyways, but i dont think it would hurt to make a 5 min phone call and ask about ur status just to show that ur still interested in the school. Granted, i'll say that calling wont get u any info. They'll just tell u that the adcom has not made a final decision on ur app yet and u'll receive a notification when that happens. good luck!

Thanks for all of the input, guys! I'll give them a call tomorrow 🙂
