2024-2025 Vanderbilt

This is honestly just a wild guess, so take it with a grain of salt, but many institutions (esp T10 schools) released their decisions last week or the week before. Most institutions require students to accept their offers within 2–3 weeks. Maybe because vandy's offer rate and waitlist movement have been super unpredictable in recent years, they’re trying to see how many students decline their offers before deciding how many more to accept? Someone else also mentioned that they’re planning to accept more people this year, so by calculating how many students are choosing other schools, they might get a better idea of how big the third wave will be.
No one declines offers this early. it will be mid to late April.

What source said they were accepting more people this year? Current student? Speculation?

I just got an email about being put on the waitlist for the MSTP so probably the calls will go out today! (if any Vandy MSTP admits want to go anywhere else and let me have this that would be so nice please and thank you I'd give you whatever you want)
Thanks for the info! But based on last year, it seems like the MSTP waitlist came out three days before the MD decision. If it's not today, it's most likely Friday.

There is a post here on page 11 about third wave being big - I meant “wave” not “year”.
Ok I just re-read that and it's all theories and speculation. Third wave could be bigger or smaller and it seems nobody really knows.

I mean yea, at this point no one knows and everyone is guessing at this point. The only people who would be able to give the firm answer would be the admissions committee. We just have to wait 🙂

Exactly. I was confirming to people that this info was not received via phone call or email from adcom.

+ OOS A, 75% tuition scholarship, called about 20 min ago, interviewed 2/10

Had no service the past few hours so now its a guessing game of whether they called and it didn't go through or if they didn't at all 😩

Oof. this was an emotional rollercoaster 😖.
i guess waitlist emails will roll in sometime tonight or tomorrow.
To everyone that got an A today congrats. To everyone else, keep your head up, you will get it eventually. Maybe not today or with this school, but resilience pays off eventually.

EDIT: also checked the times last year that they sent the WL emails and it was before midnight. Safe to say im making myself some sleepy time tea, taking a melatonin and sleeping right through that.

Does anyone know what the chances are of getting off the waitlist? I’m OOS and got the waitlist email last night 🙁

Does anyone know when to generally expect financial aid from Vandy?

How did everyone’s email start? Did everyone’s start off with ”we are impressed by…”? is waitlist emails all same/ different for everyone?
