Well, I am getting kinda of excited about hearing some news, regardless of the outcome! One more week and we will be wrapping up this whole thing people!!

Ya a week of anxiety, headaches, constantly checking e-mail, nightmares, etc. Im glad it is only one more week though...

Next week I have a biochem test so hopefully that will take enough of my time that I won't think about this too much. I would have loved to have heard back this week considering it's my spring break. It would've been easier to celebrate or to drown in sorrow, jk, kinda... lol

My spring break is next weel so Ill definitely have time to drown my sorrow

Don't get your hopes up until next week

Yeah I would bet Monday/Tuesday. Though last year I think it was 3/11? Years before that were later in march though, like 3/19. No reason to hope before the weekend. I'm expecting Yale to have been in on the secret meeting of northeastern schools and waitlist me like everyone else 🙂

Stay positive!! Maybe Yale is destined to be the one breaking that trend for you!!! :luck:

Haha, same here. At least we won't have to be posting back and forth about not receiving letters for a week with this one.

At my interview last month, they said 3/18. I'm not sure if that's everybody or just us late interview people.

Laaame. They told us sometime between 3/14 and 3/18. I was hoping for earlier rather than later.

Yeah, no joke. In the past week I've received one rejection and four waitlists. Hoping Yale can improve my record to 1-5.

Should be the same date for everyone. Let's hope NeuroE was given a more accurate range. Monday would be good!

I called (a couple weeks ago) and they said from the 15th to 18th. lol. Seems pretty specific. But I think they probably just mean sometime that week.

Anyone wanna call? I was the caller in the Columbia thread last week, so I think I've done my duty.

I'm content to wait this one out. Maybe I'll convince myself that it's going to be Friday so it can just be a surprise.

My guess is they wont come out this week. I interviewed on the last day, and was told as well that they were aiming for the 14th-18th.

Does anyone know how much Yale over-accepts by?

I think I remember from the interview packet that they take something like 240 for the class of 100... not sure how the waitlist plays into this though.

Yeah that's about right. They don't accept more than 100 initially though. Once people withdraw they start accepting off the waitlist. Does anyone know how that works? Meaning, how many do they waitlist, and reject?

Yeah i've got 265 accepted last year for a class of 100. I also do not have info about how many initial acceptances are given out. It would be foolish of them to accept even 200 initially I would think. So probably a good amount of waitlist movement. I'm definitely ready to hear back.

Thanks guys, thats good to hear- more movement than I thought. It's crazy that they only accept 100 initially though! After hearing that I've basically switched to hoping for a wait list position. Those first 100 spots are probably ridiculously hard to secure.

I just called, and they said that admissions decisions would be mailed via hard copy on March 18th and no earlier. They said no email notification.

Great. It is going to be a "lovely" weekend since the 18th is a Friday 🙄

No waaaay. Man this sucks.

Sounds like this has the potential to repeat the Columbia decision mailing debacle (or at least unpleasantness)...wish schools would all do email decisions.

I just called to confirm this, and unfortunately it is true. Mann...

They have their own status page and they have email. Why on Earth would they switch back to mail only? Status pages are password protected, why not USE them?

I have to wonder if they are just saying to get people to not call. About 3 weeks ago I called and asked the same question and they said they would send out emails through the week of the 14th and then later mail hard copies of everything.

I remember you posting about that! Ooo, good idea. Hopefully it's right.

Jesus that would be 10000 times better. my only snail mail experience this cycle is still ongoing (no letter from columbia still). please, yale, be smart enough to use the fancy new internets.

Yea, Yale!

Yeah, the whole snail mail only thing is slightly irritating. I really don't see any advantages of snail mail over email or an online status change.

Totally agree. Penn has it totally right I think - other institutions should be emulating. And I guess I see the motivation to deter applicants from calling, but straight up lying about what they are doing and when they are doing it? Seems a bit extreme.

What does Penn do?

What does Penn do?

They just have a really nice online application portal. Lets you upload update letters, etc. And the status will change on March 15 for everyone. Doesn't seem that complicated. Not sure what the issue is for some of these schools.

Strange...last year, they emailed out acceptances and everyone then got snail mails for official acceptances, WL, or rejections...

Btw, if any of you have questions about Yale, feel free to PM me. I'll be as candid as I can. Best of luck to you all!

Well, I just called (more to irritate them than to get an answer). I was told they would be doing both, emails and snail mail 😱

Whaaaaat? I literally called 45 mins ago???

Let's say that notaskgin4much is right, then! Thanks for the insights and efforts, guys. We are gonna know soon enough either way. Keep breathing. I'm headed to happy hour. Victory.

Yeah I'm confused though... the lady explicitly said there would be no emails sent out.
Oh well, it's good news
