if i got an II today, do you think the school will think I am brushing them off if I schedule my interview for the end of Nov? I don't want them to think I'm unenthusiastic about the interview or anything

How do you know your going to get an II in the first place?

II today! Via status change, no email yet.

Do we know if they're reviewing/giving out II's essentially in the order in which we were complete? Seems like everyone with an II today was complete 8/20

Who knows. They sent me my complete e-mail on the 18th, and I still "will be reviewed." 😕

everyone seems to have "no decision has been made" or "will be reviewed," but mine is "no decision is available" 😵 does that just mean they havent even looked at my file yet?

You don't, but you can check your status page to see what's up.

Oh my fault, I thought he meant he was waiting to get an interview invite today.

And yea I saw my invite on the status page last week, then got an invite in the email 3 days later and then got my complete email 5 days after that....I think their working backwards

Thank you for your application. Your file has been reviewed by a member of our Admissions Committee. While we have decided not invite you for an interview at this time, we would like to re-evaluate your application again in the spring should interview spots remain. We have many completed applications to review and wish to hold on a final decision on your application until later in the cycle. Again, thank you for your interest in Drexel College of Medicine.

Well, I guess that's it for me. Good luck to the rest of you

I was complete 8/17 too but am still at the will be reviewed status. It looks like they're reviewing our complete date now though!

This whole thing is so confusing and the real solution is probably to just stop checking statuses and wait to hear from the school, BUT...

I went from No decision available, keep checking for updates to Your file is being reviewed, and from this point it seems most people were either invited or had a status saying they would not be invited. I, on the other hand, have reverted back to "no decision available."

😕

If so, they're doing it out of order, cause I was complete 8/20, and I just got put on "hold" for re-review, which I think will just mean a rejection in March or April.

Oh interesting. I wonder when they're gonna gett to my file! Although I am scared of that hold status...

People do get in from the list. You just wont really hear anything until at least Jan/Feb. Don't give up hope yet.

Can any current student talk about Drexel's location?

I have a trip to where I am doing Jefferson and Drexel interviews back-to-back and i have never been to Philly. From what i can see on google maps Jefferson appears to in the city, while Drexel appears to be way out in the suburbs. I am going to be staying close to Jefferson.

Is there any public transportation to get from the Jefferson/downtown area to Drexel besides a cab? Also, what is the general location like around Drexel?

Thanks if anyone answers this 😀

Interview invite via status page! Complete 8/17. 3.8/33. Had the complete and will be reviewed status for the past week or two.

I submitted on 8/16 but I'm still at

Should I give the admission committee a call? Anyone else on the same boat?

when you submitted and when you were complete are two totally different dates. Your fee application fee was processed on 8/20 so i wouldn't be too concerned.

I was complete 8/22 and have the same "No decision" status...I'm curious about the people who got put on hold, whether they went straight from "no decision" to a hold or from "no decision" to a "complete and will be reviewed" to a hold.

I was submitted 08.22 and complete on 08.27, still noted as "No decision available," for status, I am pretty hopeful though...Hang in there other no-decision-ers....

I know this was sort of addressed in the thread already, but just to confirm, Drexel DOES have student hosts, correct? Where do I access the list?

The Drexel medical school campus is definitely in the city, but it's in the quiet residential neighborhood of East Falls which is sort of wedged between a few parts of the city that are a lot more dense (Manayunk, Germantown, North Philadelphia).

From Jefferson (and most places downtown), you can easily get to Drexel by taking the Chestnut Hill West line of SEPTA regional rail. You'd leave from the Market East Station (around 11th & Market St, many entrances) and get off at Queen Lane Station, which is a block from campus. It's $4 each way - use cash on the train or get tickets in advance at the station.

Still no reply from Drexel. My SO submitted his primary the same day I did and got his a week ago. I called admissions to check on the status of my app and the woman I spoke with was not very friendly. She wasn't outright rude or anything, but not pleasant either. Anyways, she said it would be 3-4 weeks for applications to be reviewed. Well it has been just over a month. I don't want to call again and pester, but I'd like to know if I'm still under review or if I just haven't received a rejection yet. D*** this waiting game! *headdesk*

Does anyone know if Legacy means anything at Drexel? My parents go MD's from Medical college of PA and Hanamen (I can't spell it) which combined and were morphed into Drexel med.

Anyone coming 10/29? 😀 I wanted to interview sooner, but I have a job that's hard to get away from and this was the first Monday spot available.

They ask this in the secondary, so it probably helps you out. Hurry up and apply!

Have your parents, grandparents or siblings earned or are in the process of earning an M.D. degree from Drexel University College of Medicine or its heritage institutions (Woman's Medical College, Hahnemann University College of Medicine, Allegheny University of the Health Sciences or the Medical College of Pennsylvania)? Also, please note below if your parents, grandparents or siblings are employed by the College of Medicine or any of our affiliate hospitals:

Submitted on 8/7 and was complete around 3-4 days thereafter. Got an II yesterday after checking the status. ( Had the "your file will be reviewed status for about 2 weeks). So, there's definitely hope folks! This process couldn't be any more random and the wait at some schools is killing me just as much.. but ultimately what happens is for the best, so don't give up! Ultimately, you will end up at a school that you are meant to go to- that's the belief that is getting me through all of this neuroticism...

My life philosophy 👍

Yes. The former (Associate?) Dean of Admissions wanted to hear of applicants who were related to WMCP/MCP or HMC graduates. It will play in your favor, but you still need to interview well, have good scores, etc.

This is correct. I'd add that SEPTA is known to not always be on time, so plan ahead for delays. If time is going to be tight, take a cab (which may be about 20$ each way, if I recall correctly).

II 10/17!!!! so excited. Do you guys think it's ok to send "in area" e-mail to Jefferson?

I think jefferson is scheduling out farther than that already...

I am pretty skeptical about this "Complete and will be reviewed" thing. It's been saying that for about a month.

 I hear you. I swear I'm at the bottom of the review stack at every school. It must be an MCAT filter thing. =/

So who else is interviewing on 9/28?

I know this has been asked before, but is Drexel open to 'in the area' email? Interviewing at Jefferson 10/3
and live far away..

Nah, i don't think so, i think it goes by primary verification date.
I have a 36 mcat and URM and there is no way I'm at the bottom of the stack (not arrogant, but srsly... I've also been complete for three weeks now)

Thanks for the hope 👍

Just checked my status and found an interview invite!!! Stats are ~3.6/32, OOS

No email invitation yet, but the website says it will come and I can schedule the interview before I receive the email. The earliest dates open are in mid-october and lots of dates still available from october through december.

as a general rule, people should just write when they are complete!

thanks!

Does Drexel pre-screen before secondaries?
I still haven't gotten mine
