thanks I saw that. I guess I just didn't feel like they were really emphasizing this throughout their website and mission statement like a few other heavy-community oriented schools are.
I'd say Drexel is pretty flexible and has lots of resources for you to contribute to whatever YOU want to contribute to, whether it be underserved communities, women's health (esp in underserved areas), education, work-life balance amongst your peers, etc. I think Drexel's main concern is graduating people prepared for a career as a physician who still have their humanity/don't go into the profession burnt out.

According to last year's thread, a "final decision" is acceptance/rejection. A "decision" is a waitlist.
Possibly. Both me and the above poster got the "final decision" update. Maybe that's the only status update that they give, and got rid of the other one
But a waitlist isn't a final decision per se, so Idk. I just hope I get the letter soon.
Still at "Your file is currently under review by a member of the admissions committee and will be sent to committee shortly. No decision has yet been made regarding your admission status to Drexel University."

Someone on the previous page said that Drexel told them on interview day that they got rid of the two different decisions and that instead everyone gets the same status.... .guess there STILL are two possible decision statuses! (final decision vs. decision)
Thoughts?
Drneurodork got the "decision" status.... not the "final decision"... correct me if im wrong... so there still seems to be two different possible statuses

So I guess there are still two statuses after all...
I got "a decision has been made"...guess that probably means wait list if there are two status updates....
When did you guys interview?

Do they update your status if they decide to interview you? Everything has been so quiet on my end since my first invites back in September. :-(
you would get an email inviting you for an interview... maybe check spam for some email from them?
For those of us waiting for a decision, I called the office and they said that the letter had not been drafted yet but that we should hopefully hear by the end of the week/monday at the latest. Fingers crossed for everyone!
Nope, nada. :-( I guess it's still early considering their current gait.
In my case my status changed, and I booked an interview date. 2-3 days later I got an email saying I had been invited to interview and that I should book a date if I had not done so previously. So...I guess you can check your email every night? 🙁 Sorry to add to the stress!

Nah, you're not adding to the stress at all. If anything, it makes me feel better about checking my status. 🙂
It would be a poor choice of words to have a final decision be a wait list since a wait list is hardly final.

The student I talked to told me that most first year students opt to live near the campus their first year because of the convenience of not having to commute, and that those who choose to live in center city are typically from Philly. If living in a busy/big city environment is appealing to you, I doubt it would be terribly inconvenient to live in center city during your first year.
I commuted into the school from center city on my interview day. I took the SEPTA train, which took 20 minutes and costs 7 dollars round trip. However, there is a free shuttle that most students choose to use instead to get back and forth between the two campuses.
Cool thanks... i think i would get a little stir crazy, but i guess at the end of the day the city is just a short trip away. i really liked philly when i went to visit.
