Congrats!!!! I interviewed Oct 15th so I'm hoping my letter comes within the next week or so!

How long do they give you to reply to their offer and how much is the non-refundable deposit?

Wow, it's odd the deposit is refundable (but a good odd!)

Congrats on your first acceptance!!! When did you interview and what did you think about the school? Is this your first choice?

I know there's a lot of mixed reviews about this school, but personally, I loved the school. My student interviewer was amazing and he was so open to all of my questions. Yes, I'll admit that compared to my other interviews, the admissions staff at Drexel didn't seem to put in as much of an effort into "wowing" the interviewees, but that's not a priority to me when choosing schools.

I interviewed at Drexel today and had a very positive experience. Yes, we did a lot of sitting around, but our interview group got along really well and we were able to keep ourselves entertained. As for my interview, I was matched with an interviewer who practices and teaches in the field that most interests me. We had a really meaningful discussion and I feel like she asked the sort of questions that allowed me to show that I know what I'm getting into. My student interview was very relaxed and conversational. In fact, I think that I might have asked the student more questions about his experience at the school and in Philly than he asked me.

There was one student whose interviewer seemed to have it in for him (I think that she's been mentioned by others on this forum), but my own experience was extremely positive.

So to my knowledge, there hasn't been a "final decision, rejection" yet posted on sdn?

I think they said something about the point of it was that the passing of money makes people think a little bit about sending it and keeps the people who have no interest from still sending a deposit. A little psychology I guess.
I interviewed on October 3rd, I posted my thoughts on this school a few posts above this one. It's not my first choice, as I would prefer to stay in state (Florida) but it's in the running considering it's the only acceptance I have right now -_- and it's a pretty good school and I enjoyed my time in Philly. Definitely keep in mind that the admissions staff, while it would have been nice to be entertained a little better, they aren't going to be a huge part in your education- focus more on the school, faculty, and students in my opinion.

I really feel bad for the people that had bad experiences. I know people have, but honestly, my interviewer was great. She was courteous, knowledgeable about the school and my application, and friendly. We actually went over our time by almost 20 minutes. My student interviewer was good too. I loved the school. I just really hope they liked me. This waiting anxiety is terrible.

OMG I think mine is coming up! I was completed on 8/25th.... OOS too and still waiting for II or rejection or whatever.

*edit
Nvm. I got my decision... I got on hold/waitlisted until the spring. Does anyone know this basically mean rejection or are there actually a good amount of people invited back for interview in the spring?

Stats: 3.8GPA 36Q

Accepted today 🙂 will be withdrawing thanks to an acceptance higher on my list. Hope an SDNer gets it!

Guys, I believe all the AAMC programs have to have refundable deposits.

Also, financial aid is not great here. They are trying to improve student debt, but it's a struggle. They've tried to get more scholarships, which I believe they have gotten more money for. They found a cheaper health insurance option for us this year, that actually seems to be better and more in line with what I had during my previous schooling. My only problem is part of how they decreased our debt this year was by decreasing the amount given for living allowances - but that may be because our second year is shorter due to taking the boards, not because the monthly amount was decreased.

Hey guys!
So I just had a question that hopefully someone can answer. So i have constantly been checking my status, like literally 20X a day cause i still havent gotten any sort of status change it just says "your file is complete and will be reviewed" and today when I checked i finally saw a change in my app, inthe section where they list all the items they have from the student like "Application fee, Committee letter, etc" I now saw that they also have "college transcript" does this mean they are finally reviewing my app? Did anyone else get this change before getting a status change? Am i just becoming to anxious/paranoid and shouldnt even be worried about it? Cause I dont know if I have to do anything in terms of giving them more documents.

Interview invite for me today. Really excited to interview here after meeting with one of their recruiters at NCUR last March. Interview will be January 23. Any advice from those accepted?

Interview invite today. How important are stats at this school once you get to the interview?

My status changed to under review by the admissions committee today after being with a member of committee since right after my interview (oct. 31st)

How much time does it take to get a decision after this status change, anyone know?

From what i gather it stays a long time with a member before switching to the actual committe. Anyone know if they're close to a decision at this point??

Im an MS1 and from my opinion after they ask you for an interview they already believe you can do well in medical school. Obviously they will look at stats again but if you do really well on your interview and a good fit for the school that is way more important. When I interviewed, I did not have a great MCAT and was asked about it but I was still accepted regardless. Stats do not mean everything but they are still looked at. If there are any more questions just ask!

So far I've seen anywhere from just over 4 weeks to more than 9 weeks. It's been more than 5 for me 🙁

This might be a really general question, but how do they determine that? Do they try to see if your activities/personality correlate to their mission statement? I feel like some schools have very broad, generalized mission statements that encompass: research, community outreach, professionalism, etc. I've spoken to students from different schools who were able to give more insight about what each school wants and if they tend to lend one way, but I'm interested in knowing the opposite: how schools see if a candidate is a "good fit".
