Hi All!!
Reading your acceptances (however, late they may come) takes me back to when I was finally accepted to HUCM at the tender age of 29. I just graduated a few weeks ago and for those about to start it is an amazing experience and I'm so excited for you all! For those who have interviewed and are waiting there's still hope, and even those without interviews I recall in 2009 they offered a few last min interviews from which people were accepted (during orientation). Sure that's not common AT ALL, but it happens. Have a plan B prepared for reapplication and in a month be sure to contact Ms. Walk to get some insight as to why you either didn't get an interview or were not offered a spot after your interview.
Lastly, I'll be staying at HU for another year for residency and have a basement apartment available in the house I've been renting since 2008. It's about a 10 min walk to HUCM and the hospital. One of my classmates lived there for 4 years, and this year a dental student has stayed there but she's moving in with her BF. Anyway, if you need a place that's close check out this craigslist ad. I have people looking today and tomorrow and it will probably rent quickly but I wanted to let you all know as I know how hard it can be to find a place to stay.
