Some people who attended the revisit weekend said they were told there wouldn't be any movement...but I'm not ready to give up yet.

I think there is an actual concern of over-enrollment this year but I'm not sure

Accepted my offer by mail. See you guys in Palo Alto in the summer!

Does the matriculation envelope have to arrive at Stanford by 5/15? Can you notify Stanford electronically? Because if the physical mail had to arrive by 5/15 and physical mail were the only official way to accept an offer from Stanford, accepted applicants would only have until around 5/10 or so to decide on going to Stanford and promptly mail the envelope.

It's rather weird that Stanford prefers physical mail, whereas other schools accept an email notification of matriculation or a combo of email and physical mail.

Yes, I believe the matriculation form does have to reach Stanford (by mail) by 5/15. If you haven't mailed it yet, maybe you can email Arturo Herrera (he seems to be the one who handles these things) and let him know your form is on its way?

I sent mine via priority mail last week and although it arrived according to USPS on Friday the med school didn't have it in hand until about 2pm today. I spoke with Mr. Vaughn on the phone and discussed having me send an electronic copy (I'd taken a photo for posterity). I think they want the paper form but can provide interim means to provide and electronic response.

USPS Priority mail for $5.60 for faster delivery and a tracking number was worth it. Kind of an important document.

I'm abroad so I signed, scanned, and sent mine electronically. Arturo said it's no problem. You might want to call him first just to make sure. But I think it should be fine.

Everything's all good. Thanks!

See you guys in the fall!

Heard a rumor from a friend at UCSF that Stanford over-enrolled and are offering people 15K to defer this year. Can anyone confirm?

I'm waitlisted too 🙁 </3

Wow. That's crazy!

I'm enrolling at Stanford and haven't heard anything about 15K being offered...no one has mentioned this on the Facebook page either.

But I wouldn't be surprised if they have over-enrolled.

i called and was told there has been no WL movement, and none is expected this year. 🙁

Does anyone know if Stanford still gives an iPad to incoming students?

I think word on the street is that incoming classes now just get a stipend that can be used to buy an ipad (or any other type of computer) for medical school. There was a lot of feedback about different learning styles (i.e. some people liked the ipad, some people hated), so they ended up giving students the option to find the technology that worked best for them.
