That's not advice! 😀

Haha, I haven't heard back from them yet, so I don't know if I'm in much of a position to offer advice. Just be you, be nice, and prepare as best you can, it's not very stressful as far as interviews go. If you have any specific questions about how the day's set up, feel free to PM me.

Eep. When did you interview? Mayhaps I'll hear soon too, then.

November 26 interviews heard on December 11/12. I interviewed on the next interview day (November 30) and heard today. Next decisions should released in 2 weeks. They seem to vote every 2nd and 4th Tuesday (and then release decisions the follow day)

I noticed the trend and thought today would be the day I finally herd from them (interviewed 12/7) but I guess I'll have to wait another two weeks. This is absolutely torturous :/

Oi, I probably shouldn't get my hopes up to hear back before early Feb. then. -_-

Good luck everyone who's hearing back soon. To people that have been accepted, have you guys gotten anything else in the mail from UConn besides the original acceptance letter?

I interviewed the other day and had a great time-- you were completely right in that it was a very relaxed interview day. One thing that I wish was different would be that the tour be a little bit more in depth-- I had wanted to see a few extra things such as the anatomy lab, but the tour didn't cover it. Other than that, it was an awesome day and I can see that UCONN is a great school.

Dr. Zeff told my group that we would be hearing back from the admissions committee by the end of the month or early February.

Nope, nothing. Getting ready to do financial aid stuff, I figure that must be coming soon.

So now that I've dwelled on the thought for a couple hours, I am becoming extremely nervous that perhaps my day was reviewed and I simply did not receive an acceptance. Does uconn notify for wait lists/rejections? Are there any other acceptances today from other interview dates?

Accepted!!!! Received the email shortly after 12 yesterday. Interviewed 12/3.

The admissions meetings take place “the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of the month” or “every other Tuesday.” I put it quotes because they adjust for holidays and that sort of thing.

So far they seem to’ve had meetings on the following days: 10/9, 10/23, 11/13, 11/27, 12/11 & 1/8.

Those accepted seem to hear back from UConn following the second admissions meeting after their interview (i.e. your file is not reviewed the following meeting but rather the one after that).

So, IF they stick to the “2nd & 4th Tue” rule, the next meetings should be: 1/22, 2/12, 2/26, 3/12, 3/26, etc.

Therefore, if your interview is/was [ ] you “should” hear back a day or two after ( )
[12/14, 12/17, 12/21, 1/4, 1/7] --> (1/22)
[1/11, 1/14, 1/18, 1/21] --> (2/12)
[1/25, 1/28, 2/1, 2/4, 2/8, 2/11] --> (2/26)
[2/15, 2/18, 2/22, 2/25] --> (3/12)
[3/1, 3/4, 3/8, 3/11] --> (3/26)

Of course, this is only hypothetical and doesn’t take into account: snow days and other natural/supernatural/karma caused disasters (you knew you should’ve cleaned Fluffy’s litterbox more than once during the month you were cat-sitting Mrs. Smith’s “little baby,” and now your interview got cancelled. Karma’s a b…); if UConn gets behind in the review process; if they decide to follow the “every other Tue” rule (then meeting days would change to: 1/22, 2/5, 2/19, 3/5, 3/19, etc.); and a million other things.

Other things I’ve gathered: Obviously at some point they’ll run out of allotted acceptances and ppl will be put on High/Med/Low “alternate” lists. These lists are ranked around the same time that the May 15th “make-up-your-mind” deadline rolls around; as ppl start to withdraw their acceptances, UConn starts pulling ppl from the High List until their seats are full.

Again, take all of this with a grain of salt… and never forget Murphy’s Law… and to change Fluffy’s litterbox.

See, dogs just poop in the yard. No litter changing required. Much better.

I like you

Does anyone know if UCONN has a second look day or weekend?

Also, any idea when in August orientation starts?

I expect my acceptance letter in the mail this week, not sure if that will answer my questions.

Looking at last years thread, the second look day was early march? The acceptance letter was just a letter and I hope we get more info about stuff soon.

Yeah the acceptance was just the one letter. We should expect financial aid/second look info in the next couple weeks. I'd guess by the end of January since its tax return ad fafsa season.

Thank you both. I found the class of 2016 orientation schedule online. Orientation is Thursday to Monday, classes start on Tuesday. Last year orientation began August 16. I'm assuming an August 15 start this year?

Not much noise on this thread, let's change that! Is anyone here definitely matriculating?

I'm waiting to hear from a school in march, but if I don't get in there ill definitely be matriculating at uconn. I'd be so pumped to go here, I loved the school and have some buddies who will be second years when we get there. How about you, bro?

I interviewed here on January 7th. Anyone think my interview group will hear back from admissions sometime late next week? I'm so anxious lol. This is my top choice!

According to sodiumfree you should. If not, definitely by the next committee meeting.

Agreed, I'm always disappointed when I log in and see no action in this thread....

I'm 95% sure that I'll matriculate to UCONN. Waiting to hear back on 2 interviews and interviewing at another school next week and another to withdraw from. That said, not sure I would attend these other schools unless they made financial sense compared to UCONN.

Loved my interview day here! And I think their curriculum is exactly what I'm looking for.

Are you matriculating?

Still waiting to hear back from a couple places, but right now everything is pointing to uconn. Had a great time at my interview day, definitely an awesome school. My only concern is whether I'll be able to get in-state status after my first year so I don't have to pay the full out-of-state tuition. Anyone else in that same boat?

I'm with ya brother. Also with you in the why was I born a jets fan boat.

I interviewed on the 7th as well and you should know by my username who I am-- who were you?

I'm thinking that we should hear back on the 22 or 23? I remember Dr. Zeff saying that we should hear back by the end of this month and if not by early next month.

Yeah, I'm hoping we hear from them this week. I have another interview in early Feb, but I want UConn to get back to us before that lol.

I recently interviewed at UCONN and did terribly on the group interview. Can someone please tell me if the group interview is as important as the other two interviews? I was very nervous and couldn't recall some of my hobbies

Interviewed 1/11, and got my acceptance today!! Good luck to those still waiting to hear back!

What time did you get the e-mail? I still haven't heard anything. That must mean bad news. 👎

I got the email this afternoon, which said it would be followed up by a formal acceptance letter via snail mail.

When I interviewed, we were told we should hear back by mid-Feb, so I would think the adcom will still be meeting and making decisions throughout the month. I'm not sure when the last interview day is, but it doesn't mean bad news yet!

Got a waitlist e-mail just now. 🙁 I thought I interviewed well. I think everyone is just that competitive.

In the wait-list boat as well...😕🙁

I also thought both of my interviews went really well.

To those who have gotten the alternate status email, did it say you were a "high alternate" or "alternate"

It just said "alternate" and that they can't specify a ranking on the alternate list because they haven't interviewed all the applicants yet.

I see. I'm only wondering because last year, some people's initial alternate status emails said "high alternate," while other's said "alternate."

Everyone else get the second look email today? Who's planning on going?

I'll be there. Planning on staying with a student
