Does anyone know how many interview rounds UTSA has? Or how soon they send out confirmation of receiving an app?

Did you receive an email confirming your application, or an interview invite? If you got an invite do you mind posting your stats?
 
Just an email confirming my app! So sorry for being unclear. I do not yet have my committee letter in, so I'm not holding my breath regarding invites just yet.
 
I just got my confirmation letter today- if I end up with an interview, does anyone know around when they would send it out? thanks 🙂

from the thread last year it looks like II will be sent out mid-July. Good luck everyone!

Congrats! When did you receive confirmation email? My girlfriend received one just now as well! Unfortunately, I didn't! Do you think that they may be going in alphabetical order haha???

Minutes ago. My last name is second half of the alphabet, but I doubt it's straight alphabetically.
 
I am really starting to think these IIs are going alphabetically. Not to be a douche or anything but I see all these people with much lower stats and weaker extra-curriculars than me getting IIs at A&M, El Paso, Houston and now at San Antonio.

My last name begins with " T " btw

I think he just said that his name is in the second half of the alphabet...

But not to worry- there are plenty more to come out and there is not much you can do at this point anyways. Hang tight, I'm sure yours is around the corner.
 
Hey y'all. Bored MS-0 here. I applied and pre-matched to UTHSCSA last year. If you have any questions about the interview process or timeline specific to UTHSCSA I can help out a bit, feel free to message me.

I can assure you that they aren't going by alphabetical order, but they do generally wait until they have at least 2 LOR in before they move forward with the application. I also wouldn't worry too much about whether or not you have an II yet. I submitted my TMDSAS fairly early and didn't get an invite until 8/9.

I have a question, if you don't mind answering 🙂 So I'm retaking the MCAT at the end of August, meaning scores won't come out until late September. I listed this on TMDSAS, so UTSA has put my app on hold until scores come in. Since this mean it won't be reviewed for months, should I take it off and then update them later? Or leave it alone? (I made a 29 the first time around- I'm positive the score will increase by at least three/four points). Thanks so much for any help! 🙂
 
Just got my first interview invite here! I'm considering waiting a day so before i wait to decide which day to sign up for just in case I get another invite somewhere else so i can hit 2 or 3 birds with one stone.
 
Any Out-of-staters have interviews yet? Hoping for some OOS love!

What I would do in a case like this is contact the admissions department directly and ask for them to look at your application as it currently stands. Admissions Departments are generally very responsive to applicants if you do the work to reach out to them.

If you get an interview with your 29, and then afterwards your new MCAT comes in with a 33, it will be that 33 that is counted in your final admissions decision. On the other hand, if you ask them to run your app with a 29 and you don't hear back from them, then you can always email them with an update after you get your new score and ask them to reconsider your application. My primary piece of advice would just be to get in contact with admissions and establish that connection, because they really do want to give you the best chance of acceptance that you can possibly get.

Hey notthebees, maybe you can help educate me here? What does it mean if I got my "application received" email from UTHSCSA on 6/6 and I haven't gotten interview invite yet? Does this just mean that I'm not invited to the first round of interviews, but I might get invited to the next round? Am I still potentially still in the running or am I basically out of luck?
 
All "application recieved" means is that that they've got your info on file. I got all my "application recieved" emails by the end of august and I was getting invites as late as November 27. Early interviews are often given to OOS applicants, special program people, or guaranteed admission students because their admissions offers can be extended a bit earlier than your average TMDSAS applicant.

Its optimal to get your interviews before Oct 15 because that means you're eligible for pre-match from the beginning. But you can still get interviews (and acceptances from those interviews) for a loooong way into the semester.

yeah I got my invite on this last sunday (the 13th) and Im OOS (AZ). To be honest I was pretty surprised I applied here but was not expecting much in regards to being considered.
 
I haven't gotten the "application received" email yet but TMDSAS says my app was transmitted to the school on 6/23... should I be worried? (My MCAT score came out on 7/08 though)
 
Received confirmation June 26. Nothing as off yet concerning the interview

Yeah, Schools often wait until they get the updated MCAT score before officially acknowledging the application. I'lld be expecting the email sometime in the next week or two. If you don't get the confirmation by August, then it may be worth checking in with the Admissions office.

Otherwise don't worry, your situation is pretty normal, and shouldn't affect anything in the long run
 
Just got my II as well.
3.87/33/IS
Confirmation June 26 but my LORs weren't in until 7/4ish
 
II as well!!!! 3.9/33/IS/Transmitted 6/10
 
All days were a Monday: 8/4, 8/11, 8/18, 8/25.
 
II here as well!

Completed first week July. Glad I got an interview this early, I sent my app a little later than I wanted to get my MCAT score
 
Also got my first II! Transmitted 7/15, IS
 
I transmitted May 29 and my stats are 34 mcat and 3.8 gpa from UT Austin. I havent gotten an interview either and really don't get how these adcoms work
