So I'm thinking of staying in Brooklyn the night before. Is this risky? Does the subway ever just go kaboom and leave you stranded underground and missing appointments? Better to take a cab? #notanewyorker

Subways are pretty reliable during week. Might be even faster than cab if there is traffic

This is New York. We invented the subway. It never stops

If you want to be successful using the subway, plan the route on google maps, take the trip duration they give you, and double it.

II just now! I'm so excited!!! (Complete 7/18, LizzyM 75).

I want to apply to the 3-year pathway as well, but I'm a little confused about how that works. On the website (and in the interview e-mail) it says you have to be accepted to the 4-year MD program before being considered for the 3-year program. On the application site though, I can clearly access and submit the tertiary application right now. Is there any advantage to submitting it now?

Thanks!

I disagree. Google maps usually gives me a pretty fair estimate. Perhaps on interview day it is good to be extra cautious though..

My first II today! Complete 7/22, LizzyM 74.

Hey, so I'm from the Midwest and have been offered an interview at NYU and Columbia, but Columbia only has interviews in Sept and NYU only has them in Oct...thoughts on asking admissions for a different interview time for the sake of saving an extra trip and a couple hundred dollars?

Not much to it. Send email and ask. ASAP
Should be easier to push back Columbia than bring up NYU

This might be a dumb question, but would requesting this reflect negatively on my application? It is bad to show schools that you have interest in other schools?

Schools know you are applying to other schools; if you didn't you would be dumb. Don't worry about it.

Has anybody heard back from the student hosting service? I didn't see any information on it in any of the official correspondence and I can't seem to find anything online.

Would anyone mind letting me know what interview dates are available in NYU right now? I might be in NYC in the first week of October and I don't know if it would be feasible to send them an ITA email.

II! @phuynh94 The only dates I see available in Oct are Oct 6 - 8, 13 - 15, and 19 - 22.
YESSSSSSSSSS the 10/6-10/8 range would work for me if NYU decides to be really kind. I'll send them an email ASAP. Thank you for letting me know! 🙂 Congratulations on your II!

Hello everyone. I'm a 2nd year Dental Student at NYU and I would like to wish everyone good luck on their application process. If anyone who has an interview at NYU Medical school and wants to save money on hotel expenses, please feel free to message me. I live in a 2-bedroom apartment 2 blocks away from the school.
Thank you and good luck to all
