Type a statement setting forth the key motivational factors in your decision to apply to Morehouse and any information about yourself you feel would be of interest to the Committee on Admission in the consideration of your application. Please keep the response to about one page. (You may want to type your answer in a Word Processor while you are off-line and paste your response here)

does anyone know if there is an online option for morehouse's picture form? or must it be sent by mail?

Just received a secondary!
Hey could you please tell me which forms are on the secondary application again. I was under the impression to work on those after I submit my secondary. Alas! as soon as I submitted I didn't have access to them anymore. I will appreciate your help. Thank you.

Does anyone have any insight on whether or not Morehouse's low average MCAT/GPA is simply due to their tendency to review other areas of the application more heavily?

Hi, current first year here! I logged on due to curiosity for this year's application cycle and figured I could answer your question!

Yes, the lower average for MCAT/GPA is simply because Morehouse looks at the bigger picture of who you are as an individual. For Morehouse, your academic credentials aren't what make or break you in terms of how you'll do in medical school. We believe in rooting for the underdog 🙂

If you have any other questions regarding the application process and interviews (when they start coming), just PM me!

Hope this helps!

Does this school only admit primarily African Americans?

I'm not too tech-savvy and I don't own a scanner so can someone help me out with how I'm supposed to fill out the picture form that we need to email in with the secondary?

I used photoshop :/ just pasted the picture and resized it then typed in the info using new layers of text. Then saved as a pdf and attached.

I'd be willing to help if you wanted.

Is this the only one?

Just got an email from admissions saying they're in the process of updating the secondary so that it doesn't require a picture form or picture in general... right after I sent mine in -_-

I'm not sure... I'd send it in just in case since it doesn't hurt. Either that or email them to make sure.

I emailed them my picture form as well last week but haven't heard back from them saying whether they received it or not so... idk we'll see

Has anyone received a "file complete" email after submitting their secondary? I have a confirmed status on my main application page, but haven't received an email.

I emailed my picture form on Sunday, so I would guess my file should be complete by the end of this week, maybe next week.

I submitted my secondary 7/12 and emailed my picture form on 7/18 and still waiting for a complete email so you're not alone

Current MSM first year here 🙂. What I did was dress up really nice and took a high quality photo with my cellphone. I pulled it up on my computer and pasted it in the document and saved it as a pdf.

By the way, I believe that photo is no longer a required portion, they just have not had the chance to pull it down. I would double check by emailing admissions though or just submit it anyways.

Just submitted my secondary!

Quick question -- I was a tad bit confused about the letters of recommendation. Are applicants supposed to send in an additional set of letters in addition to the ones we sent via AMCAS?

The way I understood it was that, if you had completed any meaningful post-bacc program, you could send new letters

Eitherway, any and all letters are supposed to be sent through AMCAS:

" If possible, all letters of recommendation for Morehouse School of Medicine should be sent directly to AMCAS (instructions for submitting letters to AMCAS are provided within the AMCAS application).
Applicants must submit one of the following:
• Letters and/or composite letter of recommendation from a Pre-Health advisor or Committee; OR,
• Three letters of recommendation from individual letters writers (two letters from science professors are preferred).
Additional letters of reference may also be provided to AMCAS. "

From their secondary invite email.

Does Morehouse send interview invites before letters of recommendation are in?

From what I understand, it seems like applications need to be completed before they consider interviews.

"After all application materials have been received, the completed application is reviewed by a screening committee and selected candidates are invited for an interview."

I'm confused bc my letters aren't in but I got an email saying that my file is complete and will be screened for a possible interview?

Super psyched to get an invite this evening! I know I always used to lurk anxiously on sdn for people's timelines of completion, so here's my own timeline for what it's worth:

Submitted amcas 6/7, amcas verified 6/16, Secondary received 7/1, returned 7/11, completed on 8/3, interview invite 8/4

I'm happy to answer any questions about the process!

Ugh! My primary can't get verified fast enough! I feel like I am SO behind!
