I don’t know the nuances of accreditation for medical schools, would anyone be able to explain the schools provisional accreditation and if thats something that should be thought of when considering cusm. I’m reading mixed things online.

Is it mandatory to have your camera on during the virtual engagement day? Or is it just encouraged? Did everyone have their camera on? I just found out I have a direct time conflict with a new overlapping interview and I'm planning on having it on in the background camera off for a portion of it but I don't know if that's worse than just not going at all... (any advice is appreciated, tyyyy)

Why does their acceptance letter / docs sound binding? I called the office to confirm that we can choose another school even if we accept the documents, but the way their email is worded is concerning
sounded super binding to me too! So, the office said that it was NOT binding?

In my virtual engagement, everyone had their camera on and I think it definitely helps you stand out if you ask a question. it’s not a requirement though. I think it depends on how long you’re going to be off. if it’s going to be a big distractior or you won’t be able to potentially go into breakout rooms etc might be good to email them and ask if you there are other dates in the same month you can switch too. I’d say don’t risk an interview though but depends on your situation

No it’s not binding. From what I understood when I reached out too is all the heavy legal wording more applies to their whole section about tuition refunds etc.

Got it, thank you so much!

Does anyone know if they take attendance for the virtual engagement days LOL... I have to leave the session like an hour early

Has anyone gotten off the WL that interviewed in October?

I wanted to ask if it was ok to send letters of interest to the school post II?

Their website says we can't send updates or letters of intent after submitting a supplemental application, but is it ok for those who interviewed to send an interest letter, especially when it's been over 4 months with no reply from the school?

Since they specifically say no letters of intent, it might actually hurt you to send one even if you have already had an interview... because it shows them you either don't know or care to follow their instructions.

i think this is a valid question to ask, giving admissions a call wouldn’t hurt but it might hurt you to send one without actually knowing if you could!

P.S. To everyone else waitlisted: ngl I've been snooping on the accounts of people saying they've been accepted to CUSM in this thread, and it seems like the majority have multiple acceptances from other schools and will be matriculating elsewhere.

Feel like this school waitlists the people they would count on actually matriculating and accepts their aspirational picks first to try to lure them into attending. Uninformed guess just based on the trend I'm seeing. Not saying everyone will get off the WL but I have higher hopes for us at this school than most.

hey can you DM me? I'd like to talk to you

I got my interview invite on 10/11 and haven't gotten a decision yet... it looks like people who interviewed after me are getting decisions now. Does this mean it's likely an R for me?

I can't access some people's profiles but I just had questions.
Hover over their name and it will say "send direct message"

do you guys think there’ll still be two VIP days? Looking at past threads, I thought the first one is usually in February

i emailed them recently and they said they’d be multiple dates but they haven’t been finalized yet.

How do we sign up for the virtual engagement day? I can’t find anything on AMCAS like they said to do.

after you receive that invite, login to the portal and it should be under the 'events' tab. a calendar should come up with available dates/times.

idk if it makes any difference but did everyone on the waitlist log in to the portal and check 'yes' under the waitlist response tab? bc i just saw that now like a month later RIP

omg i didn’t notice that 😭 i have no clue but did it just in case
O.O I don't have that on my portal. When I click the "Admission Decision" tab all it says is "You have been selected for the Waitlist." Perhaps I've already checked 'yes' before?? Idk 😭I got waitlisted back on 11/20

so i think under that tab there’s a ‘waitlist decision’ tab or something and it has you check yes/no
omg 🤦‍♀️ thank you so much! I can't believe I waited this long to realize. I wish they would have included this in their waitlist email :// I really hope this doesn't affect us negatively..

That was all I saw at first too, then I kept clicking around Waitlist Decision a few times and the yes/no option finally came up. Keep trying...
