Yes, but the commitment to enroll adds a bit.
Tell them you will drop all wailtists (if that is true).

but I have no acceptances so they have to know that. Or do they not knowing anything because they only way they can know anything about me is through PTE or CTE?

Yes; but if you have no PTE or CTE by now, odds are you have no acceptances! Especially since PTE is not binding, so you could select it even if a school doesn't require it. They know PTE or CTE, but not where, and they cannot see WLs, although the WL schools can also see your PTE or CTE, if any.

We know that you are not holding an acceptance.
You are adding that you would drop your other waitlists.

What if I have no other waitlists? How do I communicate this to them?
 
@gyngyn Do you think it's ok to send an update talking about a recently submitted manuscript? I also started volunteering at a new organization, should I include that?

@gyngyn So would it be inappropriate if we've already said those things? Contemplating sending along another LOI that restates the commitment to the school and intent to withdraw from everywhere else, which would be similar to what I sent back in early April. Seems so long ago now! I have an update (editorial being published this month), but don't want to come across as pestering.

Pestering? you can't be serious. What's the worst that can happen? the only thing I can tell you is that my friend sent four LOI afyer her interview . Guess what? she just started medical school at FSU.

Two months is a decent interval. Keep it short.
Pestering is every two weeks...or less.
 
@gyngyn, what do you think of sending a one-page letter to the school expounding on some unique attributes I can bring to the school. I have already sent a letter of intent to the school and was wondering if such a letter could be an excellent way to show them my continued interest without repeating the same content in my letter of intent. Or should I just be patient and wait it out? Thank you!
 
If a school only asked for major updates as in new grades or MCAT scores is a letter of intent still okay to send?

The closer we get to orientation the shorter the communications should get.

Damn man. Good luck. I am going through the rewrite process. My reasoning hasn't changed either but had to rewrite it. It's annoying. If i don't get in after the 2020 cycle, idk what I will write about.

I’m in the same boat. Did you rewrite from scratch or keep some sentences/anecdotes?
 
I can’t imagine sending in the same application I sent in the first time. I’m such a different person it wouldn’t be right.

This the right way. At first, I just didnt want to go through it again. But I have rewritten my PS and its superior than lasts, and I can see ways in which I can improve how I present my activities section.

I would say a 98% rewrite. I have a few sentences( ~3-5) I stole from my first and either reworded them or kept the same and expanded on em.

I am just using the same essays for my activities because I don't have the time to do them and I think all 3 are meaningful in building me as a person in both my development and interest in medicine.

Not trying to be a Debbie Downer. I have a 519 (nothing to brag about on SDN anyway) and 3.9+ and only netted one interview that led to the only waitlist I am on. I do wish you good luck on the MCAT retake though. I am just not sure how helpful a high(er) MCAT score can be, especially given you got three interviews with your current score. Of course, if you score in the 520+, then that's an entirely different ball game. I do hope you can snatch an acceptance this year though.
 
IA= institutional action. I got a 509. I may retake it because I wasn’t studying very well until a month or so before the test and I wish I would’ve taken more practice tests. Not sure if it’s worth the time and money through. Do you think breaking 510 is a huge deal? My guess is the best I could do is 515ish with a retake.

If everything else on your app is decent, a 509 shouldn’t necessarily tank your chances of getting in, I’m not sure I’d retake

Your stats are great. You might be lacking in one or two areas, such as clinical experience, research, service, and maybe your essays

My clinical experience wasn’t exactly outstanding, I have a couple hundred hours. What was your Ugrad GPA if you don’t mind me asking and did you apply DO?

Have you reviewed your application with anyone or reflected on it in its entirety? I’d hate to see you reinvest in the mcat process only to find out later that the issue was , for instance, extracurricular activities

Have not really. I think the big thing missing content wise is consistent volunteering year round with an organization. Not sure what would put me in the best position.

have you tried calling somewhere you applied? Sometimes there are comments about your app they will share with you. UW does it

I talked to a couple of places but they either wouldn't talk to me because I'm waitlisted or they told me to talk to my school's pre-med committee, which doesn't exist.

I asked over 20 schools for feedback that I applied to. 6 of them agreed to it, and only 4 were helpful (not generic).

Most said an MCAT retake is not essential, despite my 124 CARS (511 overall). They said my nonclinical volunteering could have more hours. So sometimes, what you think is the biggest issue is not always the biggest issue.

I have plenty of everything else, EC-wise, however. And I got 3 IIs. So I do not think I need to make any major changes. I am applying back-to-back cycles.
