Has anyone had issues with LOR not being marked complete on their file? My folder requirements say I'm missing a second science letter but I have them submitted to AACOMAS (it was submitted after I submitted my app to LECOM). I've emailed and called and no one has gotten back to me so I'm a little worried considering my interview is this week.

Did you do the LECOM-specific ones found on the admissions page? I had mine already loaded in AACOMAS as well, however there are some specific items listed as well as a waiver page, so I had my my advisor and additional science professor do these as well.

Does anyone know how late into the app cycle this school sends IIs? Is it too late to submit primary? (I know I'm pushing it)

I would, the 2nd is straightforward and their cycle is a bit later. Maybe someone else has more details but I think it’s worth it.

Can any current students or students who know more about the dress code speak to this?

"A clean and well-cared-for appearance should be maintained. Men must wear dress trousers, shoes, a dress shirt and necktie. Men’s hair must be above the collar. Beards and mustaches must be neat and trimmed at all times. Man-buns and other extreme styles or colors are not permitted."

The professional dress is perfectly fine, however, the fact that man-buns are considered "extreme" in terms of style is a bit dated I believe.

Will they not accept an applicant they are interviewing if he had a man-bun?

Thanks

I probably wouldn't risk it. It's either the school or the bun lol. You could try and reach out to them but because it's explicitly stated, I don't know if they'll budge. (not a student but interviewing in feb)

I’m not a current student, but I interviewed last month. The impression I got from them about the dress code was that they expect you to follow it, if you can’t live with it then the school is not for you. They get a ton of applications. I imagine they would just move on from you. That was my impression. Other’s impressions might be different.

9/27! So don't lose hope if any of you guys interviewed earlier in the season 🙂
Oh, I’d be going crazy, but you got accepted. I interviewed 11/22, and they told us mid December. I haven’t had a portal change so I’ll assume it will be after the holidays.

Same here, interviewed 11/15. No portal change yet. Told us mid-December or January. Maybe after the holidays 🙁

I thought mid December was pretty quick for us based on how things have been going for everyone else on here. Oh well, not much we can do about it.

I interviewed end of October and my portal still says "Your file is in under review by the Admissions Committee post interview. You will be notified by mail of the decision by the Admissions Committee." They said that the interview that we would be receiving a decision by December 15th

I interviewed in November. Same boat rn.

For those accepted - where on the portal can i check if they have received the deposit to accept my spot? I called and they said to check the portal but now I can't find where to go on the website lol

Interviewed 11/15, my portal updated today 12/13 saying a decision was made and would receive a letter in 14 days.

Anybody from the 11/22 interview hear anything or have a portal change?

So I am in a bit of a difficult decision. I have been accepted to both LECOM-Bradenton and Nova Southeastern in Fort Lauderdale. Which school is better and is the extra money at Nova worth it? I have to make the decision in two weeks. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

If you want a competitive specialty, Nova will give you more options for research. I personally had to choose between both and chose LECOM because my family lives close by (save on living costs) and I want EM anyways.

Waitlisted LECOM Erie, 511 Mcat 3.7 sGPA. Did well in interviews too. They look at more than just stats forsure...kinda sad it was my first choice

Perhaps your amazing stats scared em ;D
If it is really your first choice then take the initiative and send letters of intent!
IF you are in the area then swing by and show your face!

I know it sounds dumb as hell but i basically demanded my interview at the school i got accepted to now, remember you are 1 in a sea of thousands of applicants, my guess is you were yield protected. CHASE YOUR DREAMS! DO IT!

Mr. Shively has also explicitly told us he's very receptive to updates/showing interesting.

Does anyone have any tips on how to prepare for the one on one interview? Or what they might ask?

Thanks!

It is really short, so get straight to the point. They'll probably ask you something general about yourself and then give you a few scenarios and see what your response is to each. If you've prepped for med school interview questions in general, then you'll be just fine.

I interviewed on the 6th of December and have yet to receive my letter...should I email them asking about it?

Interviewed 11/15, I called them a few days after break ended, they said they sometime in the next few weeks. Ik it isn’t very helpful but I’d imagine that’s what they would just say.

Has anyone ran into any issues with the behavioral sciences requirement? I have taken psychology but that's it. Have any of you been able to convince them to let a class meet that requirement, like religion? I have taken 2 religion classes, one was on how people of various faiths cope with death. This is the only school I am applying to that has such a requirement.

Accepted!! I received my letter in the mail yesterday and I got the portal update on November 26th!
can i ask what kind of stats/profile you had on your application? thanks and congrats
