Thought I'd start an AEGD/GPR thread for the 2019 PASS cycle. Please feel free to post about any updates on invites, interviews or any application related info. Wish y'all the best!
 
Get your PS’s together. Spelling and grammar count. We read them. Little anecdotes about how you helped a patient are boring. That is our job after all. What do YOU bring to the program? What makes you an attractive candidate? The program knows what it will give you, what will you give to it? I want to hear about commitment, resolve, and dedication. After all, the top indicator for success in healthcare of the big five personality traits is.......?? Anyone?

By any chance, are you still offering to read personal statements? Had a few people look at it already but would love to actually have a director give me some honest feedback before I submit.

My first draft was too generic, so I scratched that and now I'm much more happy with the rewrite.

Since interviews are not there yet, let's make use of time by sharing any tips/links on residency interview preparation.
 
Haven't heard back yet, but Swedish Medical Center in Seattle should send out invites this upcoming week as per their website

Hmm, I don't know for sure! I think PASS has the most updated info, and it says their interview date is the week of oct 15-19 so I'm guessing it was sept. 15. But just a guess!

Hey I saw you asked about San Antonio VA, did you apply/ did you hear back?
 
I submitted my application on Monday for:
- Morristown GPR
- New Jersey VA GPR
- Philadelphia VA GPR
- Albert Einstein GPR
- Pittsburgh VA GPR
- St. Elizabeth's DC GPR
- UNC Chapel Hill GPR
- Salt Lake City GPR

Anyone start hearing back from any of the above whether an interview invite or a confirmation?
 
To those applying this cycle, I just want to give a plug for the San Diego VA, Hennepin County GPR, Denver Health GPR, and ISU-Boise AEGD. All excellent programs in great cities with awesome faculty.

I received an invitation 10/04, and they have a psychomotor hand skills test, and we have to bring loupes.

Morristown sent me a secondary app and said that the interview is on 11/16, but no invite yet.
