I know they screen for secondaries and I am happy to receive one, planning on submitting! But, a little worried because someone told me that applicants have to have a sGPA of a 3.5 and for me (exculding my master gpa) my sGPA is a little lower. Do any past students know how strict this is and do they do an additional screen after secondaries are submitted?

I'm also contemplating sending in the secondary for this very reason. I have a low-ish sGPA of 3.2. And fortunately I'm already blessed to have received multiple II's from elsewhere. Idk if I should submit or save the money if they're just gonna toss my app cause of their cut-off

I got a secondary but cannot access it. Can anyone tell me the word or character length for the essays?

The median sGPA listed on their msar is 3.4, with 10th percentile score of 2.7. It looks like yall will be fine

According to MSAR, seems like the 10th percentile MCAT they accept is 496, the 10th percentile cGPA is 3.04, and the 10th percentile sGPA is 2.73. I doubt the screen exists. I could be wrong, but I think their website mentions numbers that they consider to be "competitive" but they genuinely don't seem to have a strict cutoff.

Ok bet thank you lol this put me at ease a bit

waiver code for FAP?
Also wondered about this. I emailed them saying I have FAP, but they replied with "Thank you for your ongoing interest in Meharry Medical College and for contacting the Office of Admissions & Recruitment. At this time, Meharry Medical College does not accept or issue fee waivers toward the supplemental application."

I guess they don't take FAP? First time I've seen a school not take FAP this year.

Really? Does anyone know how much the secondary app is? This is going to delay my submission.

Oh wow. Howard didn't take it either. It's really messed up that the only schools I've encountered that don't take FAP have been HBCUs.... smh

All jokes aside, if there is a Black applicant with FAP on this thread and meharry isn’t waiving, message me your cashapp and I got you.

(I’m not made of money tho so first come, first serve— can probably help like 2 ppl)!

They’re not waiving it? I submitted my secondary in July with FAP and it was waived. I would reach out to the school!

I just got sent a secondary invite even though I submitted my secondary on 8/3. Anyone else have a similar issue?

I also submitted my secondary but got another secondary email today -_- i went to submit again but I woud have to pay again, so I didnt. I got a confirmation email for my secondary submission so Im just gonna ignore the new secondary invite.

Anyone else with FAP having issues with the waiver code?

I just got a secondary invite for the first time. Submitted primary in June and verified a few weeks later.

Same, then a few hours later I got a confirmation for my secondary even tho I got a second invite

yeah how do we get a waiver code ??
Not entirely sure. Based on last years sdn thread, FAP students disregarded the waiver code and clicked submit. The system automatically waived their fee. I’ll likely call/email the office tmrw for more information!

This isn't true. Complete the secondary.

Lol you're great. Meharry, unlike Howard, does accept the waiver

Received a secondary yesterday! I have several friends who are current students at Meharry, really fantastic people. Good luck, everyone!

Anyone know how long it takes for Meharry to acknowledge your primary app if you designated the school post verification?

+1; I can match this. If you’re considering not applying because theres no fee waiver please PM me. I can help two Black applicants as well.

What does first generation professional student mean?

If my parents went to get masters but nothing higher, am I considered first gen professional?
No you are not

"What is a First Generation Professional? his/her immediate family to obtain a 4-year college degree and/or to obtain a higher level professional position than what was held by either parent."

I submitted my secondary (yay lol!) and I got two emails one thanking me for sending my application and another one saying to complete my secondary again. Which I thought was werid so I clicked the link and it went to my completed secondary but the payment page, so I went to the home page and I see the seondary that was complete and paid for but now I have two secondary applications on the home page. One submitted and the other unsubmitted, does anyone know how to delete the second one so it is not confusing to the adcoms?

I have the same along with a dental school application. Their system is obviously glitchy or riddled with lack of attention to detail.

Glad to see you guys are getting secondaries! To those who didn't get one yet, don't worry, they will most likely send out more. As for IIs, it can be really spread out. And it doesn't go in order of when you submitted your secondary. So don't be discouraged if you see someone get an II before you that submitted their app after you. You could definitely still get one. I submitted my primary for Meharry in September, my secondary in October and got an II in March.

Submitted my secondary yesterday morning (received 9/30), fingers crossed.

you guys are getting secondaries?! 😢:bang:
Yes, but it took a while! They seem to be sending them out in batches. I was in the first wave of applicants and I only just received a secondary as of Thursday. Don't give up hope! Sending you good luck. 🌞

When I asked about fee waiver they just responded this :” Thank you for reaching out to me! The fee waiver process is managed at the discretion of each institution. Meharry Medical College does not accept or issue fee waivers/codes toward the supplemental application, so you cannot waive your secondary fees (even if you were approved through AAMC for a primary application fee waiver) for this admission cycle” welp….

I just received the same notice from admissions about FAP; I showed them their website where it says they accept FAP and they said they are not accepting it for this cycle and that the website needs to be updated.

They accepted my FAP and I submitted my application the first week of July .. I guess they just don't want to take anymore at this point .

Did anyone else submit the secondary but get an email that says "please fill out secondary" and another email that says "Meharry medical college application received? "

so I had the same issue, but when I went on the homepage, it didn't show me my app was complete. Where is the homepage you're talking about? Am I looking at the wrong thing?

Go here: Meharry Medical College - Account Menu
Click: "Review Your Activity"

Something to mention is that when I clicked on the link they provided us for the supplementary application, it led me to starting a new supplemental application. Now I have one submitted and one unsubmitted. When you click "View All Forms", it takes you to a screen with the dental supplemental application.

Also, I don't see what they're referring to as "View Your Checklist". I don't know if there's another application portal or another link.

Make sure you didn't accidentally fill out the dental school supplemental.

I got those 2 emails also after I submitted also.

Does Meharry screen applications before sending a secondary application?
Yes, but how they screen and what they screen for is questionable. I also wonder what the difference is between screening for a secondary and receiving an interview invite because their secondary seemed short compared to others.

I do know, from previous threads, that they look at your application holistically.
