My info session was on zoom, mine was through erie so they just gave us info all we really had to do was introduce ourselves at the beginning, then ask questions if we had any. It sounds it’s different for each campus so idk about the others

Thanks so much for the help! I've done an mmi interview and heard the video format has similar questions with ethics, situational and traditional questions. Is that what you found with types of questions? Hope you did great on your video!

If I remember correctly there was only 1 or 2 mmi style questions in mine, I used the interview questjons I’ve found around to prepare and it felt like it went smooth for me
 
I was told my decision would be after 11/15, because I didn’t pay the extra fee. Do they accept letter of intent? And would they let me know pretty close to that date? I interviewed in September

FYI there wasn’t an extra fee. The $1500 that was mentioned as the security deposit for ED acceptance is still gonna be required for RD bc that’s literally LECOM’s security deposit, followed by an additional $500 in April.

Your folder will have red X’s for a while- they don’t even begin to go through your app until the week of / after your zoom info session. Letters of recommendation do not need to be sent directly to LECOM if they were uploaded to AACOMAS. All transcripts need to be sent directly to them if accepted. MCAT/ACT/SAT scores need to be sent directly to them if you’ve gotten an interview.
 
OOS II 10/31, complete on 10/26.

For the video interview, does it matter when I submit it as long as it's before my session on 11/28? Also, what is the best way to prepare for this interview? Any tips would help!!

Nah as long as it’s before the info session it doesn’t matter. They recommend at least 48 hr on case you have technical difficulties though.

Go on Reddit to find a treasure trove of prior LECOM interview questions and then time yourself under the same time constraints of the interview!

I just submitted and was complete today. What's your LM? I just don't wanna get my hopes up and be sad when I don't have a quick turnaround

Quick questions about this. If they haven't gone through the app, what do they look for to determine whether or not you receive an interview?

LECOM pulls letters of recommendation from AACOMAS but I’m pretty sure standardized test scores need to be sent directly to them. The interview email I received notes that they can pull letters from AACOMAS but they do not mention that for test scores. The LECOM portal also specifies that any ACT/SAT scores should be sent directly to them, so by extension, I also took that to include MCAT scores. I could be wrong but I sent all scores directly to them and I was admitted.

I’m not adcom so idk lol. But that’s what we were told during the info session. I’m sure they read the essays to determine II, but as far as verifying whether you’ve satisfied all of the pre-requisites etc, that def doesn’t happen until the info session is completed.

How would you even send them your MCAT if not through AACOMAS? On the MCAT website LECOM is not an institution you can select to send scores. Sending them an email with your MCAT score is a silly idea. Your official MCAT scores are tied to your AACOMAS application.

I never said to email them your MCAT scores...? If you don't need to/can't send your MCAT scores directly from AMCAS to LECOM then great! It's been several months so maybe I've mis-remembered that part. But if you're applying with SAT/ACT scores then those absolutely have to be sent directly to LECOM (from CollegeBoard etc, NOT via email) s/p Il, and all transcripts do have to be sent directly to LECOM s/p acceptance, which is answering OP's question as to whether anything needs to be sent directly to LECOM.

I think we're all trying to be helpful during this very complicated process, but saying something is "silly" even though I never actually suggested that is not the way to go.

Maybe silly was the wrong word to use. Apologies for that. I think just a lot of applicants (myself included) panicked when we read from you that you need an extra step of sending your MCAT score again (I did not apply with SAT score) when our portal also still shows all red X’s after the interview. But then in my emails it never said I needed to send anything extra… sorry about the misunderstanding there.

Apology accepted! I probably should’ve also double checked about sending scores- I did double check this morning though on the LECOM portal and it does mention needing to send ACT/SAT scores but doesn’t mention needing to send MCAT scores. I appreciate that correction and I’m sorry for any panic this may have caused you (or others). I realize this is a very stressful process. I hope you have a good Friday!

For early decision candidates, we could choose the early decision date or regular decision date. But, apparently it meant nothing because I chose the early decision date and heard nothing.
 
I had my info session on 10/10 and still have red marks on the folder items. I emailed admissions on 10/24 and they just got back to me with this: "The admissions team has not moved through the full evaluation of your requirements. Once this occurs, you will see these being checked off." So I guess we just need to wait. lol.

They told me in my information session today 4 weeks.... seems like maybe not lol
 
Has anyone gotten a status update? I was looking at last year's thread, and they started to get status updates at the beginning of November. I had my info session on 9/20. And I also still have red marks on my folder items.
 
hi everyone. My stats changed to " The Admissions Committee has made a decision on your application. You will receive an official letter in the mail, typically, within 14 days." since last Thurday. How long did you guys get the letter after the status changed?

Don’t worry about the folder items and red marks- some people get the A and still have red marks lol.

I got the email a few / several days later and then the snail mail roughly a week after the email. I do live in the western US though so that def played a factor as far as the delayed USPS mail coming from PA.

I'm wondering if alternate and waitlist are the same thing at LECOM. I keep seeing ppl say they're waitlisted but some are alternate.
 
wait sorry I have not been up to date with this chat. however, I finished my info sess 9/26 and today when I checked my portal under the admissions tab, there is a section for roomate forum which was not there before. Does that mean I got the A
