You got a pre-ii R? I still haven’t received my pre-II R but they said they had sent out the last batch of invites :/
They said that they were still going to be offering some interviews if people decline them.

Hi all,

Thanks to everyone for your engagement and interest. As of now, we have sent the last large batch of interview invites, but we will invite sporadically as interview invites are declined. We will begin to send final decisions in the next few weeks. I know this can feel like we are "dragging" things out, but we truly don't know final decisions until this time each year; it is not meant to make things worse for our applicants. I will continue to try and answer questions as the cycle comes to a close.

As for the Bridge program admissions, Applicants from the regular pool that are identified as potential Bridge go through the regular process, including interview, then are placed on our waitlist to be evaluated by a Bridge Admissions Committee. This committee convenes in the first two weeks in April and applicants are notified as soon as a decision has been made. If an applicant is offered a spot in Bridge, it is the only offer they will receive from us. Hope that helps!

Thanks!
Does this mean students are interviewed with the intention of only offering the Bridge program to them or are they still considered for regular admission after gaining an interview? (asking as a waitlisted student)

Hi there,

Not sure what facts or statistics you are basing your observations on, but again, that is not the case. Not to be disrespectful, but I can't imagine that you are aware of what the service, research, or clinical experience profile is of the applicants we interview. Additionally, I am not sure how you expect your comment to help in any way, given that it is inaccurate.

We know we miss out on outstanding applicants each year; we do wish you the best of luck and hope you become an outstanding physician!

Thanks for saying this. We know what we value and it helps seeing that others see it too.
I live the life of a once outstanding applicant that was missed out on. But now I miss out on the palm trees

@FSUAdmissionsOffice I’m an OOS applicant with very strong instate ties (born, grew up, family presence, and went to a Florida school for undergrad). I was recently waitlisted and I was wondering when would be the best time to send a letter of intent! I feel like I really embody the mission of FSU and I’m very passionate of serving underserved communities and I have a history of doing so. I really want to make sure I’m putting my best foot forward!

Is there a current student here who could answer some questions?

I am not sure what your question is. All applicants are considered for the regular class; if an applicant looks like they are a good fit for our Bridge Program, they are placed on the Waitlist to be reviewed by our Bridge Selection Committee. Hope that helps!
What percent of the class is composed of waitlisted applicants?
We will accept anywhere from 30-40 students from the waitlist, some cycles more, so a quarter to a third of our class was waitlisted at some point in the cycle.

Go ahead and send it when you are ready. We will start stratifying the waitlist in early/mid April.

What should we be expecting at this point in the cycle if we have not been rejected, but not interviewed either. Will there be an R email coming soon or is this a wait it out until the cycle ends type of thing

As per the last cycle (2024) typically the rejections are sent out 1st or 2 nd week of April and WL accept/reject 1st week of may.

Does anyone know if there is an accepted student’s group that has already been made?

Anyone that interviewed the week of 3/14 receive a decision yet today?
- repeating this question as I thought we were supposed to hear back yesterday

@FSUAdmissionsOffice I apologize if this is not an appropriate question for the thread. Does FSU COM accept letters of recommendation post-interview/waitlist? I know some schools do, and I wanted to know if FSU allowed this. Thank you

Hi, did anyone who interviewed the week of 3/27 hear back yet?

Does FSU ghost or will they eventually send Rs to those who did not receive IIs?

Last year they sent R’s in early-mind April I think (according to cycle track) so I assume they will still be sending them.
I am having this issue with a couple of other schools too where last year they sent out R’s in the first week of April, but I still have not heard from any of them.
