In-state and scheduled my interview today! Is anyone else interviewing on Oct. 5th?

Haven’t even gotten a secondary yet but I’m OOS so hopefully I get one soon

OOS but lived in Arkansas for 27 years. Secondary submitted. Strong Ties letter submitted. Settling in for the long wait!

Any OOS II yet? The scheduled interview dates for UAMS are October 5, November 2, December 7 and January 11. I assume the first set of OOS will be out since October 5 is fast approaching.

OOS II won’t be sent until mid-December. They do not meet to discuss OOS applicants until December 13th. The Jan 11 interview date is for OOS interviews.

Well that’s sucks for us waiting lol. Wants to go home but don’t know if I can wait that long 😭

OOS II... I was stressing after the posts from yesterday! Very pleased to have an invite! Congrats to everyone so far!

Congrats on today’s IIs! I was back in Little Rock this weekend and it was an electric feeling driving by UAMS with the upcoming interview! Good luck everyone!

Does anyone know the address they gave us to send thank you notes? I lost my card

#2 - Place all your thank you notes into one envelope and mail to:

Per previous email prior to my interview date: "We utilize the team interview approach whereby two faculty members will interview you at the same time. Some interview teams may include a senior medical student. We conduct “blind” interviews in that the interviewers will not know your GPA or MCAT, nor will they have access to your AMCAS admissions application. The time for the interview is approximately 45 minutes."

Thanks & good luck! I wonder why OOS had interviews earlier this year… Maybe that means everyone will hear back sooner too.
Doesn't admin start reviewing files in February? I have a January interview and when I called admin to schedule it, the woman on the line told me that they don't have rolling admissions and that nobody will get to hear back before February.

"The Admissions Committee meets one day in both December and January and for a weeklong “retreat” in early February. At both the December and January meetings, the Committee reviews a limited number of Arkansas resident applicants for possible “early acceptance”. At the December meeting, the Committee also screens all non-Arkansas resident applicants to determine who will be invited for faculty interviews in January and be considered in February for possible admission.
The primary work of the Admissions Committee is conducted at its week-long “retreat” in early February. Each of the fifteen committee members reviews each of the 375-430 applications. After considering all facets of the application discussed in this document, each committee member rates each applicant on a scale of 1.0 to 7.0, with 1.0 being low and 7.0 being high. All 15 committee member ratings are totaled and then divided by 15 to arrive at a composite ranking of all applicant scores. Following the conclusion of the retreat on Thursday, the Admissions Committee meets with the Dean on Friday to finalize the Acceptance List, the Alternate List, and determines the maximum number of non-Arkansas residents who may be admitted. At this meeting, the Assistant Dean of Admissions provides reports to the Admissions Committee to ensure the final decisions reached by the Admissions Committee comply with Arkansas legislative mandates, i.e., congressional district quotas and limits on the number of non-Arkansas residents who may matriculate.
Except for the small number of Arkansas resident applicants who are offered early acceptances in December and January, letters are mailed to all applicants by the end of February advising them as to whether they have been accepted for admission, placed on the Alternate List, or not accepted for admission."

There have already invited Non-Arkansas residents for interviews so maybe they have made changes. So maybe they will consider OOS applicants in their early admission decisions.

+1. The December meeting for determining which OOS people get an interview was clearly changed since I'm OOS and I got an interview invite in October.

I interviewed on 11/02. UAMS is making a lot of changes to attract competitive applicants from neighboring states such as considering them for in-state tuition. I don’t see why they will let OOS applicants wait for that long when they have interviewed them early.

I spoke with the dean at my interview day (I’m OOS) and he indicated that us interviewing earlier this year means we would possibly also be considered for the early announcements.
