2024-2025 Charles R Drew

Also had a bad experience that left me devasted. Interviewer yelled and raised their voice at me after answering a question. Finished in 14 minutes out of 20 & told me I’d know by March. Got the R during the wave. Honestly heartbroken and left me losing confidence for other interviews. Don’t know if this is normal or unusual for interviews.

To everyone that got rejected, please stay strong and do what ever you can to become a physician - I believe in you.

When were you rejected like what date ? I’m sorry to hear that you’ll end up somewhere that is right for you believe in yourselfb

When?

It was in Early October. I honestly don’t think the interview was entirely why I was rejected. They have a rubric and the interview is one factor, but our reach and community involvement is another. I’d recommend watching videos of the associate dean and others on the admissions talk about their story and you get a sense of what kind of doctors they want.

I was definitely taken aback by the experience, but I’m not the only one. It definitely shattered alot of my confidence though. Do you think my experience is normal as far as medical school interviews? Reason I ask is because it’s my first application cycle.

No it’s not usual. Charles Drew is unique and still getting its bearings after separating from UCLA a few years ago. Don’t let this experience dull your confidence. Every school’s interviewing process is different—some even change it yearly—and having a bad experience at one school doesn’t mean you’ll have that at all of them or any of them for that matter.

Keep your confidence high going through the rest of your medical interviews. Don’t let this experience influence the success of your interview at other schools.

I’m talking about when the rejection came. I don’t think interview is the main reason either I think it comes down to such a small class size multiple qualified people have been rejected happens everywhere. I’ve gotten more rejections than I can count by now.

Gotcha - it was January 21st.

Does anyone know the date pre-reqs would need to be completed by for matriculation? I need one more physics class and one ends in June and the other ends in May.

I believe online it says before the date of matriculation (july7) so my guess is as long as you complete them before July ?

Do we know if acceptances are coming the week before February 15th or after ? Given February 15th is a Saturday

Also As we’re sent on a Sunday last year so🤷🏽‍♀️

Last year the first As were sent Feb 11th, and looking at the trends it seems this year Rs were sent earlier than last years- so if I were to guess As may be sent out before the 15th?
if you’re right, i’m hoping you are, then that would mean next week we should start seeing some movement

Ahhhhh I’m too stressed lol but keep checking this thread for news but I don’t know if I want to know lol 🫠🤪 I’m a basket case…..🫣

Does anyone know if CDU’s medical school program qualifies for federal student loans? (Totally get that it could be pointless if everything that’s been going on federally goes through)

If any of via go to the Q&A please let us know if they tell us a date they will release acceptance. I’m at work can’t attend. Thank you

So let the stress induced insomnia and loss of appetite begin 🫠

Ugh 😩 Since taking the MCAT last April this has been the longest 10 months ever…and I’ve given birth twice so that’s saying something 😂🤪
That’s so real not even my kids stress me this much 😭
