2024-2025 Cincinnati

I spoke directly with someone on the adcom. They told me they scheduled all of their interviews for this cycle.
Boooooo lol

Oh well I guess I’ll see some of yall again next year on these threads trying again with me

Does anyone know if the wait list historically has ever had any movement? Based on last year's thread it seems like the past year's class filled up well before May.

I would assume so. I think they waitlist a lot of people.

According to admit.org the crowdsourced acceptance/interview ratio is about 38%. The normal acceptance/interview ratio is 58%.
As it appears that the interview cycle is over it implies that the chances of movement off the waitlist is in the order of 30% or so.

Judging from this thread (and past threads), a lot of people who were pulled off the alt list before April sent in an update letter or a letter of interest/intent. Might be survival bias but seems like they really appreciate applicants showing continued interest through that, and the admissions dean did make a point to explicitly state they welcome updates on my interview day.

+1, I didn't even get an email. Just logged onto the portal and saw my rejection

Does anyone here know the rough estimate of the total cost of 4 years of tuition here at Cincinnati? I heard that there are summer semesters as well, is that common in other medical schools?

here's a link to their website listing in and out of state coa per year UCCOM COA
as far as i know summer semesters are the norm, so two of the years are 12 months/3 semesters instead of 2 semesters to accommodate rotations, which is why there's no summer break between m2/m3 and m3/m4

edit: tuition only in state=~$175k, out of state=~$270k

i figure not everyone actually does apply/switch to ohio residency. i'm not 100% sure on all the details of switching, but it's more complicated than just being at school in ohio for a year. it's not something i've had to worry about since i'm in state, but either way i think it gives a good idea of the possible tuition cost/coa. here's their registrar website if you want to look into it deeper: link

Is there an accepted students group chat or page? Looking to get some info, thank you in advance.

Does anyone have any thoughts on when I should hear back from this school? It’s been almost two months since I interviewed!

Do you know how I can access this/who to contact if I did not receive this email? Accepted in mid December and confirmed acceptance on MedOneStop yet no email. Thank you for your help!

Huh that’s so strange, I’m sorry you’re not getting the email! It was sent in early December and again in late January. I would definitely try emailing the admissions office at [email protected]. Let me know if that doesn’t work, and I’ll reach out to the student moderating the GroupMe directly for you

Im in the same boat. I emailed them and lyk if there's something specific we're supposed to do!

yup you're right there are a few extra requirements that don't appeal to everyone

I received the A via phone call yesterday! I was placed on the alternate list around 2/11. Attended interview on 12/6.
There is hope for those on the alternate list!!
I love to hear that! I was placed on the alternate list late december and I submitted an update in January. Fingers crossed!

I interviewed just over 8 weeks ago (as of last week), and still haven't heard back. Am I alone? Should I be worried at this point?

I know they gave the 6-8 week timeline, did others hear back outside of that?

i heard back at 9 weeks, but the holidays were right in the middle of my 6-8 weeks so that's probably why. i'd say if you get past 9 weeks reach out to the admissions department though
tbh though i think they only release decisions on wednesdays, so if you interviewed on a friday you might have to wait just a little longer to get a decision. i wouldn't stress too much! plus when i got my A i didn't get the call until almost 9pm lol so it might not be during usual business hours

A little birdie told me there may be some decisions released next week. (the little birdie is adcoms via email)

I'm wondering if an April decision means I should prepare for a WL or R :/

Hope next week means Monday and not Friday lol. Also thinking they might just throw me on the WL if they are doing a mass decision release.
