For anyone who went to the Closer Look event today, did they say anything about decision timelines or other important information about the school? From an OOSer who couldn’t go 😞 @Produce Sweaty 456

They did not give any updates as to the timeline of decisions. It was pretty much just a basic tour of the COM. Was a bit odd, they kept asking us if we had any questions and we were like, "did we get in???" So if you did not go you did not miss vital info as to updates in the status of your app.

Was this only for applicants who interviewed already?

Congrats!!! Wow, you really got the email at 9:30? Certainly nobody from the admissions committee is there deciding together at 9:30 right? So it’s gotta be something decided earlier and sent later? Crazy

Yeah, I don't know. It looks like a lot of people who interviewed september/october got decisions. But who knows, hopefully we get something soon.

I think people are more likely to share acceptances online than rejections.
A lot of schools don't reject people as they go along, but keep people they have interviewed under consideration to compare to upcoming interviewed students. I think Cincinnati is one of these.
Other schools aren't shy about rejecting early (like Boston U, Stanford, UCLA, Pritzker, Georgetown)
 
I am a 2nd year med student at UCCOM (my friend just got in and told me SDN was freaking out lol), congrats to all of the ppl with acceptances, we are so happy to have you, as for the people still waiting… admissions goes out of order all of the time, this is a common phenomenon, additionally, it is EARLY IN THE CYCLE. Uccom typically has a decent WL movement, considering over 1/2 my LC was on the WL or didn’t have interviews until December. I for one was WL on Oct 15 with an August interview, and got in much later obv. All this to be said is to have patience as much as you can, and at this point take no email as a good sign until you hear otherwise.

Does anyone know if letters of interest help or hurt at all? I have other options, but I'm really interested in Cincinnati because of their peds program. I am out of state though.
