Dang +1 OOS WL
thats comically depressingI heard (completely anecdotal from a friend of someone who got off the waitlist) that only 2 ppl got off the waitlist last year
I wanna know why they all make it the same weekend 🙃🙃🙃OOS A! interviewed 11/26, Life @ VP&S is April 10-11
Allow me to introduce myself. In the shadows the Harvester has lurked, only a whisper or rumor among the presence of the demigods that traverse this SDN thread. With the burning glory of a thousand suns, this is almost.. overwhelming. Terrifying. But magnificent. A drop of ichor has blessed a small town in East Texas.
A town that harbors the Interview Harvester.
+1 A OOS regular MD admission

I didn't see anything about this either. I believe emailing the Admissions Office at psadmissions@cumc.columbia.edu is your best bet. It also seems they won't sponsor housing for Life @ VP&S?Does anyone know if Columbia will reimburse travel for their Revisit if you qualified for the AAMC Fee Assistance Program? I don't see any info about that on the portal/website. If no one knows, which email would be best to reach out to for clarification?
Unfortunately, not that I've heard ofDoes Columbia give merit aid and/or match (merit) scholarships from other schools?
Yes - it just means they'll keep you under consideration on the WL!What does it mean to accept the "waitlist offer?" Does this just mean that you accept being on the waitlist and not that you auto-accept if you're taken off the waitlist?
I'm currently and M1 and the only impact its had so far is a question mark on funding for NIH research during your first summer before M2. I wouldn't stress too much about it as there are plenty of other opportunities to do research and also do anything else. I'm planning on traveling/working my first (and only free) summer in medical school. When you are ready to apply to residency it's all about the story you tell and not always about how much you've accumulated on paper.
When will we know for sure how this affects M1s who want to start doing research in their first year? Should we concerned about projects we might be interested in getting shut down or put on hold? Who would be the best person to answer these questions (if there are any answers at this stage)?I'm currently and M1 and the only impact its had so far is a question mark on funding for NIH research during your first summer before M2. The impact is pretty much on every medical school in the nation. It will get sorted out in 3-6 months which will continue and which will be gone but take it for granted every school will have fewer funds to play with from NIH.When will we know for sure how this affects M1s who want to start doing research in their first year? Linking this here... really concerning :
I think they're having a town hall about this. I hope they keep us in the loop, this could (and should) seriously affect decisionsOh man....this is severe 🙁
I think they’re talking about the $400,000,000 in grants that were cut specifically for Columbia, not the NIH indirect cuts that are affecting everyone! The impact is pretty much on every medical school in the nation. This discussion started with message 532 - specific to medical school cuts from NIH for M1/M2 research.I think they’re talking about the $400,000,000 in grants that were cut specifically for Columbia, not the NIH indirect cuts that are affecting everyone!
Message 532 is a reply to message 529, which is a news article talking specifically about the $400,000,000 NIH grants that were terminated, not the indirect cost cap of 15% which affects all med schools! This discussion started with message 532 - specific to medical school cuts from NIH for M1/M2 research.
Could you speak to how the Reddit post is being received by the student body? Were all of these things a complete shock for you to read, or were you and your classmates aware of it to some degree? This discussion started with message 532 - specific to medical school cuts from NIH for M1/M2 research.
I just submitted it without the UNI ID.Questionnaire released today. Does anyone already have their UNI?
Happened to me too! In some time, I'd presume that the portal would update as a confirmation.sounds good! when I submitted it, it kind of just took me back to the original list of links lol... did that happen for anyone else or did you get a confirmation
Is there an admitted students group somewhere?
