2024-2025 Emory

Nothing ☹️
Seems the portal doesn't update for those of us still in limbo 😔
Let's be hopeful!!! Last year, Emory over-admitted substantially and had to ask 10 students to defer. They are likely being very cautious this year as a result and admitting much slower. I don't think a deferral is a death sentence like it might have been in the past. We've got this, y'all!

Did you get an A?

It seems like wayyyy less people got an A compared to the first round last year. Correct?
See this comment: #207
More restraint in offering acceptances is a reasonable course of action, the year after over-offering.

Did anyone interview earlier than September 23rd? That is when I had my interview.

I’m OOS and saw the A letter with informed delivery this morning, portal didn’t update until like 30min ago for me. (interviewed 9/23)

For those who interviewed and didn’t hear back, are you guys going to send updates or like a letter of continued interest?

I don't know if I should yet/when is the appropriate time. I interviewed about two weeks ago so I'm honestly not surprised that I didn't hear anything back this round - maybe after the next round if I don't hear back by then.

At the end of the interview on 9/30 they said not to send thank you letters or LOIs, though this was a verbal instruction
I also remember them saying this at my interview on 9/30 as well. I was under the impression it was for thank you letters for interviewers. But I’m thinking more like an update letter/reaffirming interest I guess? Regardless, would it be too soon to do that? What do yall think

Congrats to everybody who got accepted!! Did anybody who interviewed Oct 14th hear back?

Does anyone know of any success stories of an early interviewee getting in in a round that is not immediately after their interview date? I know they review applications every month but do they give priority to the people they interviewed most recently?

I'm an in-state applicant ( Atlanta resident) :/ My application was received 7/10 . I crafted my whole application as per Emory, My stats are also in the range. I'm a bit sad, I haven't heard anything from Emory yet
God knows what happened 🙁

I’m In this exact same boat so I know how you feel. That being said, Emory sends interviews all the way into February! According to last years threads, plenty of early submitters got interviews later on in the cycle, so it’s not over yet!

I know Emory requests no LOIs, but there's a section for updates in the portal - should we be formatting these like an update letter or just short one-sentence updates?
where did they say no letter of interests? We were told just no thank you letters for our interviewers? At least for my interview

I emailed them last week about letters of intent and they replied saying: "We typically do not accept “letters of intent”; however, we do encourage applicants to update us on anything productive that you’ve been doing submitting your secondary application whether that’s new experiences, published research, etc."

Hello! If one were to have submitted their secondary app in mid October, does anyone have insight into when Adcoms may process my app? I looked through last year's thread but didn't find much helpful info.

So if you interviewed already and did not receive an acceptance you're assumed to be on the waitlist?

If you're OOS and accepted, you might not see the A until the portal updates sometime tomorrow or if you've signed up for informed delivery with USPS. Otherwise, they re-evaluate you every month and will send an acceptance on one of the dates listed in their interview packet once you're accepted!

Okay awesome, thank you for explaining! Have a good rest of your day.
