i interviewed later November, OOS WL today. I think I have heard of decent wl movement here, anyone know how long after getting waitlisted or when they start to pull from their waitlist?

I’ve had a lot of interviews at this point and Hackensack was by far my worst experience.
My 2nd interviewer was so aggressive and rude and it was almost like they wouldn’t believe anything I said. Yes I did a lot of impressive and cool stuff but it felt like I was constantly fighting to get them to even take me seriously and believe my application. When I explained things it felt like it was just going right over their head and they weren’t ready to understand anything. Again this was like my 9/10th interview so I think I had my interviewing skills down pretty well, but I really felt like I was the crazy one in the interview the way they were questioning my experiences. I was like okay fine whatever for that part but then they also had some pretty aggressive lines of questioning about a sick family member I wrote in my PS which I even debated reporting but I decided it was more passive and not blatant enough to report. Do they seriously think I made up a whole illness and story and narrative for a direct family member and lied through my teeth for the entirety of my application ?!? Absolutely bonkers. Not upset since I have other As, but I’m yet to have a good experience with this school. (I had applied to their BS/MD in high school and decided not to accept the offer because even high school me could tell the school was extremely novel and disorganized).

I think part of the screening process is seeing how you react to upfront questioning. I’m sorry if it was invasive or uncomfortable. It probably wasn’t necessary, but if the interviewer really didn’t care, they wouldn’t be pushing you at all. In other words, they were probably seeing how you did under stress stress. Doesn’t justify anything that might’ve broached personal topics, but take it as a compliment to the seriousness with which they considered your likelihood of attending. If they didn’t get personal at all, that would mean they probably didn’t care about your personality.

HAHA I think I got the same interviewer. I was shocked. WL with 1 interview.

I didn't interview here but at another school where I was also asked some pretty inappropriate questions and realized it was a "stress" interview. The issue is if they're implementing this style then it should be for ALL applicants not just the few that end up with a specific interviewer. How else are they giving students an equitable chance?

That’s a solid point. There are probably stand out interviewers who use it as a power trip or don’t give applicants the respect they deserve. I hear your point that the style or tone of questions should be standardized. That’s for sure a start toward equal opportunity. Unfortunately, even if a script or a tone were adhered to, it’s still the subjective experience of the interviewer during the committee discussion that guides the admissions decision, so you can only control how similar the reviews of interviewees are to an extent. You could have an absolutely heinous interviewer who gives the committee the nod or you could have an apparently kind interviewer who shreds you in the committee meeting.
 
Oof I interviewed on 11/23, I’m super excited to hear back, does anyone know if this school sends out emails/calls throughout the day or only in the morning?
 
Haven't heard anything from them; does anybody know if they still have interview spots open/if they're considering applicants?

same..my app wasn’t complete until mid-sept though…wondering if they are just still making their way through applications 🤞

It wouldn’t be fair if applicants shared specific questions they were asked. I believe it was a traditional open file style interview. There are a lot of guides you can look up online and the sdn interview feedback page may be able to help you. Generally speaking it wasn’t too different from the other interviews I’ve had, this may depend on who interviews you.

I mean there’s multiple ways this could be untrue. For example, if you were in the first group of interviews there would be nobody you could ask. Or someone might not have access or know about sdn and because of that they wouldn’t get to see people sharing interview questions.
 
has anyone with an admissions day on 1/21 received a phone call to schedule an interview yet? technically only one more business day until the 21st lol

They called me to schedule my interview the day after my admissions day. from what I've seen they will call you sometime the same week as your admissions day.
 
Can anyone provide details about how long the Admissions Day session is? I accepted thinking I could take a half-day from work, but now realizing I might have to take a full day off. Is it 9:30-5pm?

They should have sent you a schedule or it should be viewable on the portal. If I remember correctly it was from about 9am-1:00pm eastern standard time.
