Best of luck to everybody. No matter what happens YOU INTERVIEWED AT THE BEST MEDICAL SCHOOL IN THE WORLD. Even if you end up in a smaller pond, you're still a big fish. As my mentor told me, there are many roads to the same place. For all you know youl'l end up back at MGH or Brigham for residency or fellowship or even faculty??!! I've been here a while and I haven't met too many HMS faculty who actually went here. As my dad tells me... expect the worst, pray for the best, and get what comes. Don't stress over something that already has been set. I like to think that if you are interviewing at HMS, you likely already have a few options as backup. FOCUS ON THAT. You're going to become a doctor and that is what matters. Think of how few people can say that. You're standing in the shoes that millions would want to be in. Take a minute and thank your shoes. Sleep tight tonight by counting your As instead of sheep. If you do take the R, don't come back to this thread. It will only make you feel worse. My prescription for an R is to watch It's a Wonderful Life tomorrow night. No, it's not Christmastime anymore but it's such a ****ing good movie that will remind you of the intrinsic value of life itself, and that even if you are unable to achieve your aspirations, you can indirectly save the lives of those around you in ways we take for granted.. Btw all of this was directed at myself bc I'm actually stressed af.
