Timing from Daris’ post last year:

for reference, here are the release times, give or take an hour (last year was off by an hour). got this verbatim from last year's thread:
~6:15 AM PST/9:15 AM EST: acceptances go out first for REACH scholarship recipients, then PW AND HST acceptances very shortly after
~7:10 AM PST/10:10 AM EST: pathways only A's begin to go out
~8 AM PST/11 AM EST: WL emails start to roll out
~8:20 AM PST/11:20 AM EST: R emails start to roll out

any advice on when to send update letters? they make decisions in march so i was thinking early-mid feb because im waiting for a couple publications in revision to (hopefully) get accepted over the next couple of weeks...or is that cutting it too close to when they finalize decisions?

i think their last interview week is this week so it would be wise to get it in sooner rather than later

Thanks. And what about a pre-decision letter of intent? I would assume that it would not really move the needle much beyond an update letter (especially since Harvard assumes they are most people's top choice). Do we think it's better then to wait until a decision?

Combine the information to submit 1 letter with your updates and intent.

No one knows for sure but I'm pretty confident it will be tomorrow. Their financial aid deadline is March 8th, and I don't think they'd give folks less than a week to complete that. Tomorrow would also align with past trends (except for the COVID year, decisions have always come out on the closest Friday to March 1st).

A from HST, Pathways, REACH (9:39 am EST email). +1 about talking to a current REACH student. Does anyone know the REACH eligibility threshold income-wise? The closest thing I could find is that parental contribution income is waived for <$150k (link).

Does anyone know how good the need-based financial aid is here? I've read online that it might not be so great and that Harvard doesn't normally negotiate offers. I was admitted this cycle but am quite worried that I won't be able to afford it. I received nearly full tuition coverage for a T5 undergrad (if that gives an indication of my financial need). Any info would be highly appreciated! Especially since they don't give financial aid offers for a few more weeks

I think you'll be fine, it probably will max be like 10-20k loan a year, I'm in a similar situation as you w/ another T5 so I hope we both do get the best aid possible. Also, we can negotiate offers from other similarly ranked schools, which I am going to definitely be doing!

They sent an email to accepted students titled "HMS Curriculum Update!" with a video message from Dean Chang. HMS will be providing 1 final set of grades after the whole PCE year is complete, rather than grades for each clerkship like many other graded schools do, starting with the entering class of 2026. It all seems a bit odd but I guess we'll find out more when they decide to share more info
